Do you have a picture of the wiring harness you got with the Bluetooth module?
It is the exact same as the one in your thread. Canbus and power supply wires have loose ends.

The Bolero headunit already has CAN bus connections, you could chuck those two wires. You'll only have to connect power and ground on the incoming harness. A skilled electrician can undo the existing power connection on the harness and crimp the Bluetooth one in place. It shouldn't be that big a deal. All connectors in VW / Skoda cars can be undone using a special tool. If you have the will to do it, go for it.

I have found another option. Instead of modifying stock Quadlock harness, we can modify this additional Fakra Quadlock 40 PIN adapter and then interface the BT module with Bolero unit through the modified Quadlock. What do you say?

A very sensible option. You'll only have to splice / crimp on the extended module. In event of a warranty claim, just unplug the extender, plug back the stock harness, remove the BT wiring and you are good to go. Plus, if you feel like adding an MDI kit, it would take it up directly.

Thanks. One more question: As I am doing this as a DIY, will I need VCDS for the activation?

Yes, you'll need a VCDS to activate the module. Keep this handy:

Pin layout.

Programming the module.

A bit off thread.... Any idea what's the difference between 5k0035730e and 7P6035730L BT Module? Also did you upgrade the RCD 510 software?

Re: Falling in Love Again. The Story of a Czech Maiden - Skoda Yeti

Finally the BT was installed without any changes to the OEM wiring. VCDS coding pending. Few issues reported:
1. Phone book display in HU is muddled.
2. HU doesn't display song details.
3. HU does not control media on the phone.

Re: Falling in Love Again. The Story of a Czech Maiden - Skoda Yeti

And Finally its Goodbye to a Fine Companion. 31st July 2014. exactly 2 days before she completed 2 Years with me, She was Bought back by Navneet Motors as a Trade in for the X1. Quite a few enquiries and crazy offers from people wanting to own a Higher Segment car at a Low Budget price. an 8 Lakh offer from a used car dealer, to which i had asked him, which part did he want to 11.75 Lakh offer from another, a 12 lakh offer from a visitor of car wale who said he wanted the car but didn't want to pay for the 4x4 as he didn't use it for offloading, a 13.5 lakh offer from a used car dealer who goes by the name Spot Car Deals, he never arrived at the spot, a 14 lakh offer from another visitor of Carwale who is still arranging funds from the past one week and wanted me to hold the car, till his bank gave a confirmation letter and without giving his margin money, a 14.5 lakh Offer from another techie from bangalore who said since the Yeti Active is available for a discount of 2 lakhs in Bangalore, i should reduce the price to 12.5 Lakhs, a dealer who paid up 1,20,000 and made a sworn affidavit before a notary public to finalise the deal and take delivery of the car at 15,00,000; but then after a week started saying that he can offer just 10 Lakhs, and after reading the affidavit realised that he would have to forfeit the advance paid, 3 advances of 11,000 and 20,000 and 25,000 by dealers who had negotiated for 14.75 lakhs, who like the smarty above made a sworn affidavit and then retracted their offers and had to forfeit their advances! and of course a few bhpians from neighbouring states who saw the ad on the Tbhp Classifieds who without knowing the fact that this state has the Highest Road taxes, were arguing that a used car in their state was available for a particular price and that i should offer it to them deducting the road tax payable by them in the other state and that they would claim back the refund of road tax in this state. in other words the listing for the yeti was at 15.00 Lakhs, they wanted me to sell the car at 11.75 Lakhs (the price at which a used car is available in their state) -16% road tax payable in their state (1,88,000) = 9,87,000 and they would claim back the road tax paid in Karnataka of about 3 Lakhs. Effectively they would get the car at 6 lakh change

Finally Navnit Motors took it in to their inventory at a mouth watering price unfortunately which i cannot disclose as they needed to close the deal and do the billing on 31st July!

Coming Soon The X-files...... till then adieu!

I hope you realise that the new X1 is just around the corner which is supposed to be pretty X5ish in design from the current version.

Hi Dhiraj, Yes the New X1 will be in India in 2016. but from what i have read it will be a front wheel Drive, unlike the present one. Also by 2016 i may upgrade to something else, as i Normally have had my Cars for 2-3 Years Max. and since the New Facelifted Yeti is expected by Diwali, the present yeti will be of the Older generation and may not find many buyers. hence the decision
