Storme in black simply looks stunning! According to the forum the paint quality is top-notch & it shows. Here are the pictures of the LX model. The interiors with the steel finish look classier than the fake wood finish in the top varient. Again I wish they had an option for all black interiors it look sweet!

Thanks, Devdath. This was a little better than the 3/4 view in Silver. Will wait to see it in metal. But am not able to ignore / shrug-off the side looks, and to quite some extent the front view too.

Yes, the XUV was driven around in Maruti Desert Storm and similar events, which probably require an AWD or 4WD with limited capabilites which are likely to be present in a softroader.

Any interesting question would be; how many XUV 500 started the Desert Storm 2012 and how many completed it without any problem?!

The Tata Safari platform is like the Land Rover Discovery in some ways. It has evolved over the years but the basic design cues are seen on all the versions including the roof line that goes up a notch towards the rear.

This can be taken as a compliment by TATA, as this is coming from a person who is a avid traveler and someone who is very happy with the Scorpio, very importantly someone who is testing/researching vigorously on his next upgrade...

So Dev should we assume that your next upgrade will/maybe a Storme:D??

Also the above statement sums up that for someone who intends to buy a vehicle "particularly" for touring, a vehicle which can take most of the terrains and Safari Storme seems to be the answer! actually even my need was the same and Safari did suit the need perfectly!

Well iam glad that I booked a 4x4 and eagerly waiting for it , hope the launch is soon down south .

Hi Narayan,

The problem with black seat color is that the space might look less and cramped. With light color fabrics, the feeeeling of space is more.
It holds the same whether its for choosing your room colors or choosing color for any other purpose, its just the visual appearance. Dark colors might look sportier but feeling of space is surely less.

As probably the first person I know who has booked the 4x4 please: give me your views on it.
Enough discussion is happening on the lower variants which seems to be most affordable and VFM and convinces me to be the stormes strongest segment .
But at over 15 lacs on road (Gurgaon) is the 4x4 storme meaningful.? Im asking you this because my dilemma is the same.I ve always loved the safari and Im inclined towards it. But at over 15 lacs the XUV W8 seems to be more VFM than 4x4 storme.
Is the real SUV's real 4x4 alone worth overlooking everything else it doesnt give? like cruise control or a better centre console, touchscreen etc.?.
It kind of gives me an impression of the 4x4 being a little overpriced against the competition. Tata A.S.S, gives me nightmares.
But then again, we do not have any other genuine 4x4 challenging it either in its price segment.So monopoly justifies the cost?
As a full blown tourer and my everyday office vehicle the safari storme 4x4 seems to lure me toward it inch by inch everyday..But I want to be sure where I'm putting my money.

Hi Vignesh ,

I have been waiting for the Storme since quite sometime. I need a vehicle with not much of electronics and jazzy stuff . Moreover I need a proper 4x4 long distance tourer which is what the Storme is capable of doing . With a 3 yr warranty I feel Tata has definitely made sure they get this one right . I did try the XUV as well it is good no doubt if you do not need a proper 4x4. All the best and see what suits ur needs and make a wise decision .

Hi Fortuner,
Are you sure you need a proper 4*4 for long distance touring. Proper 4*4 is required only for proper off-roading. For long tour, 4*2 is sufficient.
Why to pay extra for 4*4 when most of the times, we will not be using the full mode. Also, the mileage will be less and maintenance will be more compared to 4*2.

If we actually want to do off-roading , buy Thar separately and save that extra money for something more meaningful and useful. :)

And moreover buying a Thar or a second vehicle for pure offroading becomes unaffordable for most of us .Hence we are greedy for that ONE vehicle that can just pack up and go anywhere...Not hardcore 'punish the suv and see if the bolts fall off' kind of offroading .say do some mudslinging in the mountains and dune bashing in RJ and beach surfing off Goa and after a wash drive it to office next day...Dreamy Dreamy.

P.S: I still get dreams of the good old safari Full throttle on the desert..Maybe only one shot one car to get as close to living that dream clap:
