Even I am following up with 3 different dealers for the TD of DZire AT. No luck so far. All of them have only the Petrol & Diesel MT as demo cars.

Yeah, and one of them offered a TD of the A-star AT. I shall update this thread if I hear back from them.

Even I saw a new Dzire with yellow number plates in Mumbai yesterday. It will be interesting to know what makes these taxi operators to pay extra for VDI version and how they get it so early!

The Popular motors Annanagar SE called me today and informed me that my Dzire VXi Pacific Blue has been despatched from the plant and that the car would be delivered to me on 25th March.
However, he has informed me that I need to make 100% payment in the next 2-3 days.

Is this normal?
I am wondering what hold I would have on them if I make 100% advance payment and I find some issues in the car when I conduct the PDI. I also asked this question to him and he informed me that there would be no problems at all and if there are some problems which cannot be recified to my satisfaction, then I would have to wait till the next car of the same variant and color is received by the showroom

It's not. I paid the entire amount the day I did PDI and was satisfid with the car. Once the cheque was deposited in the dealers account, the car was registered in my name. All this took around 3 - 4 days.

Talk to the dealier and negotiate.

It is advised to perform the PDI first and then do the payment. Even during my purchase the dealer asked me to pay one week in advance, but I didn't agree to it and only after the PDI I did the payment.

Reposting this content again;

I'm really harassed with the Supplies & Delivery style/schedule of Maruti Suzuki's New range of products.
Back in Mid-July 2011, I've booked White New Swift ZDi at a nearest leading most Maruti Suzuki dealer, with the dealer quoting the Waiting period of 7-8 months & I agreed & booked the car with Rs.10k Booking amount.
After the launch of the car later on & the News of Ramped up production of New Swift by Maruti Suzuki, I thought I'll get the delivery of car even sooner than what dealer quoted, even despite of long strikes at Maruti Suzuki Manesar plant, where the New Swift is manufactured.
But sadly till Dec 2011, I got a Big 'No' from the MS dealer & in return they said that they're still delivering the Jan-Feb 2011 orders & I still need to wait for another 3-4 months for my car, which is roughly speaks of waiting period of 10 months.

Thereafter after every fortnight I used to call the dealer & the response remained the same from that side.
Later on, When The New 2012 Dzire(with shortened boot) launched, I made a call to the dealer again & their 'Sales Manager' said the same about the New Swift ZDi, but he said,

Sir,"Have you seen the New Dzire" ??
I said, No I haven't seen physically, but I've seen its launch pics.

SM replied, Just see it once, Its a good car, has better Interiors, all in all better than previous Dzire & even better part what he said was that, If I want that car, I can get the same in a lesser time i.e roughly within a Month.
I said Ok. But I want the same shade & same variant as Swift i.e White New Dzire ZDi.

SM said, Ok sir.

The above conversation took place in the first week of the Feb 2012 & now its Mid-March 2012 & still I've got No call, No car from that dealer.
My Loan is ready.
Documentation is ready.
We're ready, even the SM is ready, but there is No car with us.
Only what we are having is the Excuses, excuses & lots of excuses from the dealer.
& the excuse which I got today was that, Sir, we're having White Swift ZDi's in our stock, If you want one, we can arrange it in few days but Dzire ZDi's availability with take another month & they're short of Supplies now & even for the coming fortnight.
& This is Simply Rubbish.

I don't know what they do, Initially when I wanted Swift ZDi, Dzire was available but as I made my mind & wants Dzire now, now Swift ZDi is available.

Even randomly, I called another MS dealer, I got the Ultimate reply,
"Sir, Cars are going to cheaper in the 1st week of April i.e after 2012-13 budget implementation. So we're not ordering any stocks to the company".


Even a Complaint with Toll free Maruti number & Regional centre, Chandigarh was unable to fetch any better results.

After searching so many corners, I came to teambhp so that here I would definitely get the best solution to How to come out from this dilemma or what I should need to do now ??

In a Taxi the luggage space can always be increased by fixing a carrier on top of the roof. So, even if Maruti makes a car without a boot, many operators might still buy it because of the reliability and cheap maintenance.

Then why dzire? Why not cheaper Ritz diesel or even the Swift diesel ?
I guess you won't be losing in terms of interior room and roof top carrier will take care of luggage.

The rental costs are higher for a sedan compared to a hatch. The DZire will cost nearly as much to run as a Ritz or Swift diesel including maintenance. Even if the operator charges Rs.2 extra, he can recover the extra lakh paid in a very short time. Also, there are many Ritz cabs in Bangalore, but mostly operated by Avis or Hertz.

I just noticed that there is no rear washer/wiper even as an option on the top variant. Considering the small size of the boot, won't the dust settle on the rear windshield during long highway drives?

It struck me when I saw an Accent Viva today, which had a rear wiper due to the smaller boot.

Got my White Dzire zdi on 12th March, my previous car was a swift vdi 2008 model, which i kept for around 4 years, covered 90000 kms, a satisfied owner. Comparing the new dzire with the old swift, it is really a leap forward, driving has become more comfortable, softer gearshift, softer clutch, better brakes smoother ride, well everything has been said in the review.
A perfect family car, may be posting my initial ownership report.
Any suggestions regarding art-leather seatcovers, how are the mga seatcovers, where can i get good seatcovers in Ludhiana? Thanks.
