Hi fellow Bhpians. Apparently this is my first post in T-Bhp and I am very much elated to share that my membership approval coincides with the arrival of my new car Swift ZXI in glistening grey colour . Enjoying the beast to the fullest now. Will upload the pics later. Thanks again.

Everything that's mentioned in the service manual! With mineral oil, we should be looking at a ~6.5-7K bill ! Add another 2.5K for synthetic oil.

My car had a detailing session with 3M Mount road Chennai. Mr. Dushy and his boys have done an excellent job. Had chosen Paint sealant application. It cost me 3290+Taxes. My car has turned from grey to glistening grey.

Dear Swifters from bangalore, did anyone got a chance to stay in the service bay during your services. My car is getting ready for next service. I had seen multiple times that they wont drain the engine oil completely. When its 80-85% done, they will lock it with new gasket and start filling new oil. But they charge for engines capacity i think. My preference is Pratham motors OOR as it is just near by my office.

I try to be at the shop floor during service and have never seen them not draining the oil completely. Most times, I keep a low profile and watch the car from a comfortable distance.

Suraksha, Bommanahalli and Mandovi, Haralur Road allows that.

Here you go..Pictures of my car getting a royal bath
Meanwhile, i intend to add a stock replacement K&N air filter for my swift. I plan to get it imported through a friend flying down from US.
Can somebody confirm that the model Number for the same is 33-2974. I have read reports of the filter not fitting inside the airbox. Please help.

Isn't that royal bath area 3M?

Why K&N so soon on a new car? Let the car complete it's run-in and preferably warranty period then continue with the MODS.

Just my opinion sir.

Yes it is 3M store Mount Road, Chennai.
I am trying my hand at improving the low end for my car. I thought the safest way to start, will be using a stock replacement filter. I think a replacement filter might not affect the warranty of the car.

He has mentioned as "stock replacement". So warranty should NOT be a problem.

Its 33-2968. I was using it in my VXI (same colour as yours) and just 2 days ago I sold the filter on tbhp-classifieds. 33-2974 will not fit.

Nothing will change with the stock replacement K&N, all marketing bull talk trust me. Not one bit. Stick to the OE air filter and keep cleaning it every 3 to 4 thousand kilometers.

I swap between the stock filter and a Greens cotton filter from time to time. What I have felt is that the stock one is better for the low end, but the cotton filter has a slight advantage when the loud pedal goes deeper. Mine is a Diesel though.

Swapping the air filter is any easy job. Do make sure to fit the stock filter back before taking the car for service. Else, they might throw away the costly aftermarket filter for a brand new 300 rupees paper one.
