I've seen genuine swift sport headlights for sale on ebay international, but its very expensive (for a set of lights)!!

Suzuki has just given a mild makeover to the Swift in UK.

While the looks of the car didn’t change, the fog lamp enclosure now gets LED daytime running lights. And the car gets a new alloy wheel pattern.
It’s only a matter of time before the Indian Maruti Swift gets updated with this feature !

Hi. Didn't know where to post but since this is a thread which owners of Swift visit, I thought I'll ask here.

I am considering purchase of a 7 year old Swift ZXi (odometer approx 40000). If the car is well maintained, is it ok to get such an old vehicle? Is the petrol Swift engine reliable to last another 4-5 years? or should I go for an i10 which is 4 years old?

Thats a really low mileage car!

1. Are you buying from a dealer or an individual?
2. What is the price quoted?
3. Have you checked the service record?

Buying this Swift should be fine if you have done all your research and everything with the car checks out. The engine shouldn't be a problem if the car has been properly maintained/serviced over the past 7 years. Go to a Maruti showroom to check on the service history and mileage of the vehicle. Also, check the tires. If they are stock, they will need to be replaced.

According to me, the i10 is a completely different segment (others might disagree).

I suggest you ask the questions on the thread below and you might get a more informed response.

Thanks for the response, Shome! I agree i10 is a different league car but if I have to buy a newer car at the same budget I have to step a league down

Price quoted is around 3 lakhs. Yet to check the details. Will keep in mind all the check points in this forum.

My swift has completed 20k in 14 months of ownership. Did the 20k service at MSM at the cost of Rs 6200 with mineral oil. Wheel alignment, balancing and rotation was not included. Synthetic was recommended by the SA for another Rs 2000 but I put my foot down. Comparing the 14 months of swift ownership with 14 months of my earlier Manza, I would say that Maruti scores on
a) Niggle free ownership. With Manza every service there were minor niggles that I had to take to T.A.S.S and coming home not rectified fully
b) Service experience- Quicker. Gave the car at 11:30 AM and picked up at 5:30 PM. I had to wait for 2 days to get my Manza serviced everytime from VST.

Mileage is around 15 kmpl in city and 18 on the highways with a/c always on. Incidentally mileage on Manza's MID matched with more with actual while the Swift's MID is way off. Manza scored on the comfort, space, ride quality and shorter 3rd gear while Swift pick up, handling, clutch, gear shifts and FTD are just not there on the Manza.

Though the service interval for oil change with mineral is also 10k similar to synthetic, I am bit confused on whether I should change earlier and if yes what is the right interval with mineral. MSM has put shell mineral on the car.

See Retro Rides on FB page, they have such aftermarket head lamp with projectors, DRL fitments.
