IMO, the Fluidic Verna doesnt bottom out much. I recently saw one Fluidic flying over 4 speed brakers without stopping once and I dont think the car's bottom hit the road. I understand that its not recommended to drive like this over humps, but I think the Verna can take moderate size humps easily. Existing owners can add more first hand info on this, but this was my observation.

Leave the read defogger on, it takes about 5 minutes but dries off all the water from the rear windscreen lol:

The price did increase by about 20k between when I booked (May 7) and when the car was delivered about 10 days back. This is for 1.6 Diesel version in New Delhi.

Yes it handles the moderate size humps like any other car in this segment, no major cause for concern. Rumble strips are a breeze though.

Going by Hyundai experience, the spare alloy is the one to go next. After that the rear discs will go. If anyone is interested, please hurry to buy. Best wishes to all Verna fans (I am one too, but decided opt out after seeing that there are every goodies that the segment can offer and much more, except space for passengers in the rear seat:D. Too much of style, too little care for passenger space).

lol: I wish it was so easy. This problem get accentuate if you put sun film hence it is advisable not to put film on the rear glass.

I will disagree with you. We have not seen Hyundai short change like the other manufacturers. The price rise of 20K is OTR increase. Actual increase by HMIL is much lower. All manufacturers have increased prices as the Rupee weakened(same logic was used in increase the price of petrol)

I also disagree on your logic on the rear passenger space. It is more than adequate and is quite comfortable. I have done 3 long distance runs with 4 in the car and no one has complained of being claustrophobic etc. The seats are very comfortable. The floor too has a small hump and so a third passenger place his legs comfortably, though with three in the back it is a little crowded. You will need a better excuse for not buying the car :)

@ Ajay: Where my friend's AT City invariably scrapes the underbody with him alone, my Verna SX clears same speed breaker without scraping with four adluts & no luggage. Where is the problem of soft suspension bottoming out with load???

Request Verna Diesel owners for informing whether the engine noise has smoothened out after usage? If so after how many km. & by how much? I was expecting little more refinement from the engine, thus the request.

Today filled in the tank again, fuel 14.7 lit. for 267 km., av-18.16 km/lit, 100% AC, plain diesel, out of 267 km., approx 200 km. on open highway @ around 100 kmph & rest in city. Quite amazed by the FE for such a new car.

Not making an offensive here. I am not a Hyundai basher either. I have great respects for the company (and its products) which believed in Indians at such an early date and use the country as a manufacturing base when the "elders brothers" still source components from abroad. The observation on rear seat head room is based on my experience. I wish I had taken a photograph.

However, as you have pointed out, no car satisfies all the requirements and Verna is too good to reject for these few parameters, when it scores heavily on several others. If I were 10 years younger, I would have definitely jumped to grab the car that offers features which were hitherto unknown to the segment. Today my daughter is as tall as me as well as my wife. My son is also growing up. The rejection was painfull and definitely not an easy task, given the price point at which you get the car.

Agree, 800kms done and zero scrapes (Including some stretches really bad Gurgaon roads)

Averaging about 16 so far, but have spent a lot of time stuck in Gurgaon traffic. Still only 800 kms done, so hoping for improvement after the first service.

I have put film on the rear glass as well, the rear defogger works okay with out any issues.

Due you use the rear defogger continuously in the rains? In heavy rains do you not find it difficult as the water does not flow easily from the rear glass?

Hi !

I have booked for first service of my SX 1.6 CRDI on 30/09/2011. Require the follwing inputs before that..

1. The clutch is too hard for me. After a continuous drive of around an hour in city, the left leg start to pain. Is it normal for all fuidic diesels??

2. Want to upgrade the head lights to 90/100 with the same holders. Will it not overload the battery & charging system? Which brand of bulbs should I go for & will the improvememt be substantial?

3. Will be doing 3M underbody coating @ approx Rs 2000/- with a 5 yr. warranty. Any known adverse effect of the paint??

Well finally! Got a call after intense follow up for 4 months that the car will be delivered next week. Thanks to you guys for advising me to wait!

Will put up a full booking exp and initial impressions as soon as I can (assuming this time I will really get the car).

So many Fluidic Vernas are getting sold every month but there are only 4 ownership threads that I could find out on the car out of which Manthranik's and Jk007's are the only ones which last more than 4-5 pages . I am sure that there is more to this car than just the official review and hope the owners would be less lazy in typing down their experiences with this car .

I had a discussion with my friend who is an ex Hyundai employee , he mentioned that for most cars the clutch initially is kept stiff so that there is less of play than there otherwise would have been as the car grows older. We have had a similar experience with our Ventos too , with use the clutch gradually eases up

With the marginal upgrade the battery and alternator should not be a worry though some cars develop issues related to heating of the headlight assembly and also misting inside . With 90/100 in my Vento , I haven't had issues - I have used Phillips and improvement can be felt for sure

Had used 3 M underbody coat on my Swift and its very good . You should not be worried about any adverse effect

Hi KPS: Yes, I have used in heavy rains and did not find any difficulty. The water did flow easily.
