Dear Friends, I need some suggestions for speakers upgrade in my Verna. I am planning to change the stock speakers to JBL components that are 240 Watts. I spoke to an accessories guy and found that the stock speakers are only 40 Watts. Is that true?

Will the sound improve drastically beacuse of components? I am just trying to research since I have to invest around 6500/- for a set of JBL components.

Appreciate some feedback. Thanks.

You wouldn't beleive how much of a difference a good set of components upfront can make. However, please be informed that the output from the speakers will strictly be governed by the capability of the HU, so you may end up utilizing the speakers not even 50% of the capability.

Even then, it will still make a difference, drastic or not depends on your expectation. I think the stock speakers are co-axials in the verna, right? None of the stock speakers are anything to write home about.

Nothing wrong here. Hyundai does seem to have shipped out a couple of extra Vernas in purple recently.

Tell me about it! I took a really long U-turn a couple of weeks back to click a swoopy low spoiler equipped white parked Verna, but it had taken off by the time I could get to it.

Got the stunning looking vehicle from Hyundai stable. As was pointed out by the BHPians there was nothing fishy in my brother being offered the Verna just 3 weeks after his booking. Infact we could save some money on the tax rate hikes effective from April 1.

My quick takes on this vehicle.

Needless to say this is a brilliant design and is a head turner.





The ride is quite comfortable, but this is strictly a four seater. Putting a person in the middle seat of second row is a crime.

I did not feel anything bad about the suspension though. But changing gears induced a jerk, may be because of my way of releasing the clutch. I tried my level best to ensure that the passengers be kept unaware of me changing gears, but wasn't able to during my drives, because of the jerk. Does anyone else feel this?

From my three test drives and a 2 hour ride on the rear bench, the suspension seemed just perfect for the city drives. The rather soft suspension seems to do work well in soaking up the uneven surfaces at city speeds, but it gets a little too shaky for comfort whilst taking over rough patches at highway speeds.

Congrats on the wise decision! Probably you just need to get used to the clutch. I find myself in the same state whenever I drive a car for the first time!

Well, as swiftnfurious rightly pointed out, this can happen for the first time whenever we drive a car, especially when we switch between petrol and diesel engines. But, here it was not the case. My co-brother too failed to find the optimum release even after 1000km of drive.

The soft suspension has got both advantages and disadvantages. Sudden overtaking manuerves and high speed cornering suffers, but potholes and uneven roads simply fly by and always we have feeling of sailing on smooth waters.

I had the same problem in my car's USB. The system at times re-starts & therefore comes back to 1st song when I used the horn. The problem was more frequent at night with head lamps & fog lights on. Just replaced the horn relay & the problem is over. Cost was NIL as it was under warranty. The problem never happened at the service station, but they did replace the relay on my insistence. Thereafter, the problem has disappeared. The relay costs approx 600/- as informed by the service advisor.

Nope, didn't bother with the TD of the AT. Was too close to a Laura DSG post some repeat customer discounts. The SX is costing me 11.75 on road Mumbai with 0 depreciation cover!
Scheduled to take delivery of my 1.6 Diesel SX later today. Starting to wrap up at work and leave for the showroom as I type

Hi Manson ... What discounts/freebies are you getting. Hyundai's site gives the price for 1.6 diesel SX at 10.28L for Mumbai. I suppose that's not the most recent prices. Could you share the breakup of the total on-road cost, if you don't mind

I would guess you have not driven the diesels extensively. The most important thing to watch is the RPM. If you are in the 1250+ RPM range your gear change will be smooth.

Just go an enjoy the ride. You will love it.

Note that the windows can be still closed after the key is removed. This works 10-15 seconds after the key is removed. Secondly if you have your handful, you can press the lock button, pick up your things and when the last door is closed you will get the lock signal.
