Maruti Gypsy - Technical Specifications & Feature List

Team-BHP will now be uploading the full feature list and technical specifications of each car sold in India. This information isn't readily available; even manufacturer websites sometimes don't present all the data (intentionally), while the fancy formats they use make for poor readability. Then, we have some manufacturers who tend to confuse you by listing a glovebox as a feature!! Lastly, the official websites don't follow any standard display order as such, which can make comparisons across cars very difficult.

Team-BHP will follow a standard, easy-to-refer-to format across all Indian cars. With time, this data will be transferred to an interactive website section.

i found out the pcd is 139.7 and its 5 hole rim/wheel from the other threads but dint find the offset, can some please add the offset too stock rim?
this will help in choosing the alloys for the same.

Offset is +10mm.

On the side, Wikipedia lists the peak power of the G13BB engine as

The SOHC 16-valve G13BB (introduced in March 1997) has electronic MPFI Multi-point fuel injection, generating 56–63 kW (76–86 PS) and 104–115 N·m (77–85 lb·ft).

While the opening post lists the peak power as 80bhp. Should it be corrected to 85Bbhp?

Also my service manual cautions that the rear shocks are filled with high pressure gas, while everybody on t-bhp seems to think Gypsy uses oil shocks.

Just realised, if Maruti Suzuki can chop off at least 11mm from the length of the vehicle, they can take benefit of the Excise Duty charges (sub 4-metre rule) and sell it even cheaper.

But on a serious note, really looking forward to the next generation of Gypsy/Jimny in India now. Hope MSIL don't let us down and give it 4x4 in both Petrol and Diesel variants and may be AMT as well!

If I am not mistaken 99% or more sales come from Government departments and Army. None will be bothered about taxes, either they don’t pay or goes to a different pocket

Totally agree with you Turbanator, but there are a few people even in TBHP who have recently only purchased their Gypsy, so would have benefitted them. I am still waiting for an upgraded version, so no offence meant to anyone. Just putting a point forward, that was all.
