Generally it's not required atleast for the first couple of years but it's better to get it done early to prevent future rust.
Plus Mumbai is coastal so chances of rusting are a bit higher and if you are like me and live right on the seaside and have open parking, it's even higher.

I would say get it done after a year. Enjoy the new car smell !!
Maybe get it done before the second monsoon
