Bosch is just about acceptable. Again, with experience, Bosch brake pads are not extremely durable, the ''bite'' isn't as good. But if your driving style is sedate then go for it. A tad bit cheaper than Hyundai OEM.

Re: Brembo Brakes in India?

Advice on best brake pads for Honda Brio please.

Don't want the boring OEM ones.

Is there a chance to use the OEM rotors with performance oriented brake pads like brembo or ebs?

Bosch service centre near me do not have those. Members please share a dealer or place to get these brake pads (brembo).

Hi. Finally got it done at a shop in Hennur Road, Bangalore. Upgraded both the rotor and the pad to Brembos. I shared my doubts of the brake dust with the shop owner and he reassured that a small bit of dust actually helps in better braking.

Additionally I was told to avoid hard braking for the first 100 kms to allow the brakes to set. They also mentioned that hard braking before the brakes are set might lead to the pads getting broken.

Feedback:
First 100 kms whenever I was braking I could feel the grinding of the pad and the rotor. And after parking the car after a long ride, there was a bit of a burning smell near the brakes. I checked this with the shop and they said it was normal in the beginning.

After 100kms, it was better. There was no burning smell anymore and the grinding was gone. As far as the braking performance goes, will not say that it is a huge improvement from the OEMs. Braking distance and grip feel really 100% similar. However, the judder felt with the OEM ones (right from the beginning) under hard braking was now gone, which I feel gives me more confidence with driving. (Yes I tested hard braking a couple of times and it was great!)

Also, I felt prey to a bit of impulse buy at the end and upgraded my air filter too to BMC at the same shop . So I have 2-3bhp now more with better braking. Got a mini Need for Speed moment for myself!

Do share the shop address and number?
How much were the costs for the filters and the pads?

Are they red or black?

Sorry for the late response.

They are the black ones I got.

If you need to get in touch with them you can whatsapp on 7303405193. They ship Brembo pads pan India and provide installation for a fee in Bangalore.

Brembo Brake Pads and Rotors

Is there a reseller out there who deals in Brembo Brake parts?

Looking forward for an upgrade.

I live in Chandigarh and there are none here as far as I know. So looking for some leads for online/offline resellers who can ship it over too.

The brake pads I need will be standard ones but the rotors I am looking for Brembo Max (the slotted ones) for my Skoda Rapid

Hi bhpians,

I would like to know if there are any dealers in Bangalore who offer Brembo or EBC products. If there are, could you please share the shop's name and contact details with me?

Re: Brembo Brakes in India?

It’s sadly become very hard to source original brembo pads and discs in Madras and Bangalore. Really a pity, they were a great and affordable upgrade to our cars.

If you do manage to get your hands on them, better to double and triple check that they are original.

Re: Brembo Brakes in India?

So now here we are again nearly 3.5 years later. And nearly 26000-27000kms later too. (Ive myself done 31000kms on my car it the 4 full years that Ive had it and its previous pwner had done 33000 odd in the 7.5 years that he had it.)

The last time my Mini went in for its First ever Disc Rotor change was in mid-2020 after I bought it, as I have documented here. I had put all original BMW parts sourced from Navnit Motors.

These brake disc rotors have been carefully maintained and cleaned regularly of the asbestos brake dust etc but still were showing signs of scoring and stepping. And I have been changing Brake Pads regularly and using OEM BMW Mini Cooper Pads only so far. Saying that, the Mini Cooper S R56 tends to chew through Front Brake pads every 7000-9000kms and Rear Brake Pads every 10000-12000kms at the very max. And the Disc Rotors also tend to get scored by 20000kms at the max.

With judicious usage and care, they may be made to last longer, as I have done. Thing is, the traction control, abs, dsc and ebd work a bit overtime in the Mini Cooper S R56 and in consequence it tends to chew through brake pads and discs faster than other cars. This is more so in our Indian general mixed operating conditions with start stop traffic and harder braking or even the ‘darting’ through gaps on highways and the usage of Sports mode and some nice happy burbling in the hill roads. I do tend to use engine braking much more because of my lovely paddle shifters and superb growly exhaust overrun and the manual mode and thus my brakes tend to last a bit longer.

Yet, it was time, so I connected to a Parts Supplier in Haralur Road near my home (Autofolk.in - +91 73034 05193 ) as they are the supply partner for Brembo locally. I ordered a complete set of Brembo Discs and Pads as per my car’s VIN Number and double-triple checked that they would fit. From the date of payment it was a matter of 7-8 days that the parts reached my house from the Distributor in Chennai, through Autofolk in Bangalore.

I had also ordered and was waiting on some more parts from the US, a new set of nice Bosch Ignition Coils and a fresh set of Bosch BERU High Power Spark Plugs and all. (I prefer to change these proactively rather than reactively to keep my car in best condition, using only first class OEM/ OES Parts.) And I also decided to carry out a full service with oil and filters etc being changed on this car yesterday.

The last time I had it routine serviced was Feb 2023. I have driven 5000-6000kms all over, Chennai, Coimbatore, Ooty and all since then, so I still wanted the car in tip top shape since we are planning a nice drive in Mid December with a small Mini Cooper Group.

So I went along yesterday to Aeon Motor Works (Aniruddh -+91 99457 18181) , my usual place for all service work on my Mini and I got all the work done. I am waiting to have the brakes and pads bedded in by driving a bit. But so far I can already see the difference.

I am happy with these Brembos. And honestly they came at a much fairer price than the OEM BMW Mini Parts. I had also checked in Europe (at BMW Mini and at a Parts Supplier) on two recent trips and the price was high quite apart from to added weight to carry. The prices in the US are superb but the weight is too much. The savings on price will be offset by the shipping and duty. So it was best to buy the Brembos here.

Anyway job done. Am happy as it lets me enjoy my little red car more.

I love this little car. And I like going extra when it comes to its maintenance and care.

Re: Brembo Brakes in India?

My S-Cross brake pads were due for replacement. Thought of going with Brembo this time. Got them from United Motors, Chennai. The seller was very responsive. They are the official partners for Brembo in India. Got the product delivered the next day. Seems authentic and 100% genuine.
