Luckily, I had gone through this thread and also interacted with UM earlier. Asked him for pictures, availability and rates on WhatsApp for both Brembo and EBC Yellowstuff. Brembo was a very reasonable 2,700 + 150 courier charges. Cross-checked with my Chevy contacts. Paid immediately on Paytm, order was shipped same day and received in good packaging on the third day.

The red box is the Brembos while the yellow/purple pad is EBC YS (sample pictures). The other ones are the OEM spares.
Hi thanks for this update, I suppose this is the same SKU for rear brake pads on a '15 Chevy Cruze?

Better check with them although I'm fairly sure it's the same.

Re: Brembo Brakes in India?

Hi guys I need your advice.

I changed the stock oem front brake pads on my 2014 Honda City to Brembo pads after it had ran 42,000 Kms.

I'd purchased these pads from Amazon and I believe they were from the seller in Goa.

My stock rotors didn't have a lot of grooving so therefore I decided to use them. The car has currently run 44,000 Kms with the new Brembo pads but it still keeps making terrible squeaking noises. It's become so unbearable. I did get the pads and brakes serviced, I saw them applying lubricant but it's not helping the cause.

I'm attaching photos of the rotor, pads and the packaging for reference. I'd appreciate any feedback or suggestions at all.

The black brembo pads have a known issue of causing squeaking noise on some cars. See if you can source a pair of red pads with which I have had very good experience. They also squealed but only at low speed braking. Only issue was them being semi metallic they ate through the rotors. However they lasted nearly 60k kms with still some life left for another 5k kms.

Happened with me too when I got my pads changed to Red ones about 3-4 years back at 45K KMs. Its mostly due to a used disc and new pads. You might have to get used to it. I have changed the disc and the pads both to Brembo at 90K KMs now and have not had this issue after this installation.

I had this squealing issue with the Red Pads too albeit at slow speeds or when the pads were cold.

Re: Brembo Brakes in India?

Thanks for the reply Rachit.

Even though the terrible noise is there, I feel that there is an overall improvement in braking, the pads have a nice bite.

The OEM pads had left me questioning them on several occasions in the past.

So as it stands my only solution would be to swap out the stock rotors for the slotted ones from Brembo. The last time I checked it was around 9k for a pair of slotted rotors from the distributor in Chennai.

I found out the seller I ordered these pads from are called 'Carzspares' or also known as 'Laxmikant and Co Industrial'. They must be genuine right ?

Is it better to buy from UMC based in Chennai or is there anyone distributing Brembo pads in the NCR region?

Oh OK. You may be right. When the pads were changed, the rotors were already 66K run. And the squeaking at low speeds was present from day 1.

The interesting thing is now I replaced the rotors and put in new Mintex pads and guess what, low-speed squeaking is still present! Anyway it is not a botheration to me since i value the braking power than occasional noise

Re: Brembo Brakes in India?

I buy from UMC for my cars in BLR and have had impeccable service both times. From first WhatsApp message to product in hand has been 24 hours. Highly recommended.

Brembo Discs & Pads for VW Polo 1.6

Hello everyone,

My 2011 VW Polo 1.6 is due for it's second brake replacement and I was thinking why not change them to something better instead of the regular OEM ones.

So I decided to call up United Motors in Chennai and just got off the phone with Mr. Ashish after a discussion on what would suit my car and usage. My car is 90% driven in city and so he recommended the Brembo Drilled Discs but advised against the Brembo Black Brake Pads as he claimed premature wear. He also informed me that production of the Brembo Red Pads were stopped almost 02 years ago.

For the brake pads he has recommended pads from Supreme Brakes which are ceramic and basically manufactured by them itself.

The discs costs 9k and pads 2k. I am confused as to what should be done.

If you drive in the city mostly the normal discs would suffice and cost a shade above 5k and the supreme pads. You wouldn't notice much difference between the both unless you are an aggressive and sporty driver. I believe the supreme pads are about 1k a set.

The article on the Brembo site is worth a read on the different discs.

Yes, my drive is mostly in city. Are you recommending the regular Brembo Discs (OEM) and the ceramic Supreme Brake pads?

Its a good read but will this change be worth it? Should I go in for the Brembo Drilled Discs and Supreme Brake Pads? Or should I just stick to the OEM from VW?

Yes for the Brembo discs, much better than the VW ones; Can't speak for the pads as I haven't used them. Mine is due for change soon and I have already bought the Brembo discs and I have a set for Ferodo pads bought earlier that I will switch to.

In my opinion it will be hardly noticeable in city.

Yes, Brembo Drilled rotors and Brembo Pads, superb combination for my 2015 Polo gt Tsi. Got it changed couple of months ago @The Mechanix, Pune which is owned by a fellow bhpian. Ever since I have a smile on my face when I brake.
The OEM brakes were getting increasingly squishy @18K km, and Iam glad, I took advice to change to Brembo.
With the new Continental tyres, Bilstein B6 and Wolf remap, Brembo works like magic.
Perfect combination.

The dealer (United Motors, Chennai) had recommended the drilled discs but advised against the Black Brembo Brake Pads as he said they wear out faster than normal. Also, are you an enthusiastic driver as I have been told that the difference is noticed at high speeds and not in city driving. I am confused whether to go for this combination or stick to stock.
