AC Compressor Noise in Maruti 800

I have a Maruti 800 5 speed 2002 model. Its original AC compressor had conked off and there was no sufficient cooling due to lack of pumping.
Iwas told by my AC mechanic to alter the original compressor with 507 Sandon.
I was told that old secondhand compressors are available in the market and they work very well.New ones are not available due to shortage in supply.
I brought one such second hand 507 and got it installed, the cooling is excelent but the problem is it starts making screeching sound after driving for about 20 to 30 kms, and stops when I cut off the compressor switch.
Next when I start the AC after a gap of 8 to 10 hrs then again in the beginning there is no screeching sound from the compressor and it starts again as I explained earlier. COOLING IS EXCELENT only the compressor noise is the problem can any one give me suggestion and advise what has to be loked into.

Have you checked your A/C comp belt ? Looks like a worn out belt in your case . When you switch on your comp , the belt might be sliping

My friends second hand a/c on his 800 had a noise problem which was diagnosed to worn out bearings of the compressor.MASS had suggested to replace the comp then and the estimate was around 14K which my friend decided not to go ahead with.
