After my exeperience, I've come to a conclusion. Buy a new car, take the free 3 services and also the other services till the warranty is valid. Be firm, develop friendship with the service supervisor and a couple of mechanics and try to be on the floor to see what work is being carried out in your vehicle. In the meanwhile explore for a real decent FNG and an authorised spares dealer for your model.

Any major problem, always take a 2nd opinion from the FNG before going to the ASC. Once the warranty expires, shift to FNG.

GD Sir, Please can you let me know where you've got the safari suspension done.I've got a Sierra 96 model which badly needs a suspension overhaul, she's done a total of 180000 K's on the odo and the last overhaul I remember was done around 100000 K's. My trusted mechanic of 12 years has shifted base from Delhi to his hometown in Uttaranchal and set up shop there since the past 1 year, from then I've been struggling to find a decent place to take the Sierra for the regular maintainence. Any help got would be really appreciated... !

If you are in Delhi. you can buy cheapest parts from Kashmiri gate or you can get from naharpur car bazaar. The latter one is more reliable, and small boys working there are very expert.

GD Sir, thanks got your PM, have noted the details. I will visit tomorrow.

Sir Alec - where is naharpur car bazaar located? Though I live in the NCR (Gurgaon). I've not heard of this place, I'm wanting to replace the front windshield of the Sierra and maybe look around from some other parts where ever I can lay my hands on.

Sir my office is right on the corner of Naharpur and I dont see any speciality in this market. There are so many such small auto repair markets in Delhi. And there is no specialised parts shops in this market like Kashmiri Gate. So many parts arent available and invariably I have to visit Kashmiri Gate once a month. I went to Kashmiri Gate just 3 days ago to buy AC vents for my Scorpio. Also the lesser said the better it is about the quality of workmanship in this market.

You seem to have a very fine impression of Naharpur which is far from true.

GD Sir: Good work here, please PM me also the details of your trusted workshop.

Hey let me know the parts and I can find out for you though I am absolutely sure none will be available in Naharpur.

GD sir
This thread is a real eye opener!!!
I agree that if a vehicle is properly maintained it gives the owner years of good, trouble free and most of all Reliable service.
I had an Accent and kept it for 8 years and 1.25L on the ODO. I just maintained it at Hans Hyundai and the vehicle was great.

Now I am using the TATA Safari 2.2 DiCOR and though the vehicle has never given me any major cause for worry or tension I am still not able to find a good TASS or TASC for my vehicle. I bought it from Pawha Motors and their service is OK and the SA knows me well, but the workshop is quite far
I tried A-One motors which is nearer than Pawha Motors but din't quite like it there. Been there only once.
We also have the Auto Link Service (TASS) (near my place) and Vishkarma Motor Garage (TASC) (very near my place) but am not sure which place to go to???
I spoke to the Tata Customer Care division in Gurgaon and the executive there told me that as I owned a Safari I should keep getting it serviced at TASS and avoid TASC. Though he dint say this in clear words but that was what he meant!!!

So Delhi Safari owners please advise as to what to do and where to get it done. My vehicle is due for service in this week as I have to go out of station on wednesday and I plan to take the Safari

The only reason I am thinking so much is because I plan to keep the safari for atleast the next 6-7 years or maybe more!!!
