Bhardal or Nulon.
Waking up a very old thread(but its good to use the existing one instead of creating a new one).

Just want to know is it safe to use either a Bardahl engine oil additive or a Nulon one in Premier Padmini S1. I have recently changed the engine oil and filter. Have poured SAE20W40 grade Bosch oil and Elofic oil filter without any flushing agent. Due to worn out piston rings haven't used any flushing agent although bought a Cyclo Motor Flush but returned it after some negative reviews of its use on old cars. Now the engine is heating up very quickly. All the necessary checks have been performed. So was thinking of using this as a last resort before finally opening up the whole engine.
Thus, need some suggestions regarding this.

@ samsag12 - I don't think that the engine oil additive will help with the problems you describe. Would be a better option to source a used engine in good condition (watch for cars who come to the scrapyard in running condition).

Or, if you are doing an engine overhaul - I can help when I'm in Lucknow next.

But S1 models are very very rare to be seen in scrapyard. I don't plan to put any ordinary padmini engine so if all fails will get the current one in perfect shape. But presently car is not in a state to even run 2kms due to heating. Am waiting for your visit to Lko and to meet you this time . So till then will run the car with some minor tweaks.

Is there a minimum number of kilometers that an engine must have run before putting in Bardhal ?

samsag12, did you use the Bardhal yet ? Did it help ?
