Superb clarity and brightness. But why would one need night vision when you have head lights? Pardon my ignorance.

This seems like a stupid question. Is it really dark as the image seems to suggest that you were standing in some visible light.

Headlights sometimes are not able to spot people or vehicles due to bad exterior light, no reflective clothing worn by the pedestrian, blind spots, shadows, etc. With the aid of IR and Night vision, driving in such situations is easier and safer.
