3. Have you replaced the pollen filter during your 2nd servicing as advised by Fiat manual. If yes then ask your service advisor to do a complete check up.

I am not sure if this could be the same in your car.

For #2, again i took it to the service center, and they were able to resolve most of them. But still if i take it on a very rough patch, i could still hear rattles, but not too disturbing.
You are lucky person that your problems have been resolved by the service centers you have in your city.
My main problem starts at the service i am getting. They are not able to rectify the problem.

I got the latch inside door replaced under warranty. The LH side front door was bit hard to open. As per the service advisor this was a common problem in many Linea's and they have replaced the lock in most of them. However after changing the latch there has been some a small rattling noise from door on rough roads. With the music system on it is hard to hear the rattle, but it persists. The service guys had solved the issue, but after some time the rattling noise had sprung up again. Had to visit the service station a couple times for the same. Now I am fed up of visiting the service station again and again and have learned to live with the problem because the rattle is not audible when the music system is on even at low volumes.

Plastics.. aah the plastics. Yup pretty lousy but hey even most of the premium cars here pretty much have the same kind of quality. Them cars might have decent, high quality interiors outside India but here plastics rock. So much so it makes me wonder if the manufacturers use recycled plastic, the environment being an issue. Or on a lighter note, we Indians have a plastic fetish.
Hi, i have been offered a Linea Emotion Pack at an on-road cost of 8.2 lachs with Gurgaon registeration. The only catch is that the car is a April 2010 model that has been lying unsold along with t-jet Lines. I am worried that the deal sounds too good to be true. I am also a long term (and currently as well) Fiat Uno diesel 1998 model owner. So iam aware of the bad A.S.S. Fiat however does know how to manufacture robust cars. Unfortunately even the best machinery requires maintenance. I am still willing to consider this offer, though my cocerns are the condition and history of the vehicle. Assuming the dealer is speaking the truth, tyres, braking system, weather rubbers, electrical do get affected. My option is to go for VW Vento trendline Breeze diesel model for an road cost of 8.3 with Gurgaon registeration. Both prices quoted include cost of my existing vehicle in exchange. No doubt the trim level of the two car models are amazingly in favour of the linea. A little confused. Pls advice

I understand that this is a "report niggling issues" post but because you asked for opinion hence the response. I am a Linea Emotions Pack owner since April 2010, driven 40K so far. I have not test driven Vento so can not compare the ride experience. But if you are satisfied with the test drive and other aspects then I can tell you that my experience has been good till date. There are definitely issues with A.S.S because of sharing services with TATA. No other major car company has outsourced this important aspect like FIAT has done. And it is the single most factor in way of their building credibility and market share. Even the I was able to experience good service at a couple of service centers in Delhi which you will have to to find out in Gurgaon. Having said that this car is like a good wine. It is getting better as it is aging. I am enjoying excellent ride quality that actually improved after it crossed 10K and mileage has been excellent. In my daily route of 90KMs I am getting 17-18 KMPL on diesel restricting my monthly fuel bill to Rs. 5500. Couple it with wow factor (looks) that it generates and features that are there, I am a very satisfied Linea owner. Just check the April 2010 thing impacting the car parts but IMHO worth the bill, anytime.

Mike had posted his query more than 2 months back. I hope he would have made his decision long time back.

Cheers!

Niggling issue that I've faced about 5 times in the last six month: The horn stops working. It is either just one wing of the horn - usually the left - which stalls. Once the entire horn wouldn't work. I am taking it tomorrow once again to get it fixed - I told them that they need to fix it properly this time.

Niggling issues for i am currently facing:
The immobilizer/fiat CODE light comes on. In the manual it says that the issue could be with the key, but i don't really know. Also, the button on the drivers side for the LHS window has stopped working.

re: Fiat Linea - Various niggling issues? Post your experiences here.

I had to replace the oil filter and the seal of my MJD 2 days back to fix the oil leakage observed in the engine bay.
When my MJD goes over rough roads or some ditches i hear some rattling noise from both the sides (LH and RH). Some times I feel it is from the doors and sometimes i feel it is the parcel tray that rattles. I had got the rattling fixed during the second servicing but after a couple of months the rattle has surfaced again. Besides the rattle I also hear some squeaking noise. During the second servicing the sales advisor informed me that the seat bolts have been re-torqued (I guess tightened) to solve the squeaking issue. However the squeak has returned after some months. The squeaking is not continuous and from past one month the squeak has not been heard. i plan to get these things fixed in 3rd servicing.

Hi Guys, sorry i did not post the outcome of my decision. I finally decided to go for the Linea Emotion plus 1.3 MJD. The decision was taken, ironically, in the VW showroom.Whilst the Vento is a good car, it is simply overpriced, with bland looks and not much of a service network in the country for now. Plus the long term ownership would definitely be much higher than the Linea. I guess if i wanted just A.S.S then simply close my eyes and go for a Maruti product. The Linea was simply an irresistible offer and i finally got a freshly delivered car, 8 Oct 11, instead of one standing in the stockyard. The car is running fine. The fuel economy and ride comfort is awesome. I have covered around 3000 kms since then (100 % city), with a fuel average of 19.8 kmpl. Have also upgraded the Blue & me with ecodrive which helped me refine the driving skills and raise the bar. The speakers are the only sore point but since i dont like to play music loudly, i think i will survive, for now. The car has a 4 year warranty with 50 months of 24x7 road side assistance.

Hi, For Linea 1.3 MJD owners - the car has a GC of only 161 mm. I changed my stock R15 195/60 tires to R15 195/65 Yokohamas. Huge improvement in ride quality and more importantly the GC has increased by approx 10 mm. Did not have to change my stock alloys either, got a very good price on my OEM tires. The car has not bottomed out even once and considering the roads i drive on, it is no small thing.

Fiat Service Centre told me that it is 22k to replace the horn pad - because now that 2 years are over - it is no longer under warranty. I asked them that if the horn pad was faulty, why was I not informed on the previous 4 occasions when I brought in my car. The service assistant made me speak to his manager and the manager said he will get back to me ASAP and has requested me not to rate the service if I get a call from Pune till the issue is resolved.

Any solution for these problems?Any one face them?
I had this issue . The service center diagnosed the problem to a bearing which connects the steering connecting rod to the suspension . This ensures suspension moves in the direction of the wheel. Bearing changed noise gone. Bearing cost 5000Rs , replaced under warranty for free.
