I have yet to find better prices for my W123 parts anywhere.

It's in German, but it shouldn't be to hard to figure out. It does help if you can come up with a part number though. if you havent got it check those Ebay references (they mention OEM pn) or call MB. Not sure about India, but any MB dealer in Europe will be able to help you with the pn if you can provide the VIN.

Dear Virat,

Thanks for your prompt reply - as always - and also for the contact. I will try him tomorrow.

Refurbishing the existing mirror boots may not be such a long-lasting solution because the RHS one is cracked and the LHS one has sort-of melted out of shape. They aren't disgraceful as yet, but having done so much work on our car, these are the only two black-marks on an otherwise shining exterior!

I'll let you know how I keep getting on.

It's mostly rubber components for the engine bay and suspension (these wear out after 22 years ). Also sourced the Sachs OE Heavy Duty struts as equipped on the India spec cars.

I sourced every single part from the Mercedes Benz UK dealer at VERY affordable prices. Based on the inferior quality of rubber parts from aftermarket suppliers, I avoid buying from anywhere else.

I'm told the MB dealer (Shaman) in Mumbai can also source parts for Indian customers (with a discount too!)

That sounds good, i will be in need of rubber trims as well soon.

I set my rear callipers on fire last year (Jammed brakes. Didn't notice till it was too late) and I would like some advice on new rear callipers as well as mirrors.

After 22 years on the car, my W124’s original front suspension was renewed using MB Stuttgart supplied OE replacement parts. It is a testament to Mercedes quality from a bygone era that the car ran on its original components for over 2 decades!

My insistence on using factory supplied components has paid a rich dividend- the car drives better than when I first purchased it 10 years ago.

Included in the above were genuine heavy duty struts, new bearings and all rubber bushings. See pictures for some of the components changed.

That's great. Could you share the parts list with part numbers?

The W124 is in the shop with a leak in the fuel line that goes from the filter to the pump inlet. This is a 6 mm hose. The issues are:

The last hose used after the factory part gave way about 3 years ago was a Parker Markwel hose rated at 400 psi. This line held up but the outside rubber started to give way. No leaks, but the rubber was cracking.

We replaced it with a blue silicone hose next, but that started to leak at the clamps.

Mercedes says they no longer make this hose/part. They recommended that we use a hose in 6mm made by Maruti for their cars. I am skeptical, that our pumps put out more pressure, and that could cause a problem.

Couple of questions:

Have any of you had this issue and what was the best fix to replace this hose?

Ny feeling is that I should go back to the Parker Markwel hose, as its braided and rated at 400 psi, and watch it for rubber deterioration.

Does anyone have a MB part number so I can look for the hose in the UK/USA?

Check if brake hose rubber can stand fuel. Brake hoses are braided and available in various diameters and lengths, so you should have no problem getting one.
