Sound from Front & Rear on SWIFT

My brother just took delivery of his Swift Zxi and on driving I notice very strange sound, which is not there on my SX4 or my earlier Santro.

1. When we drive over a Hump/Speed Braker, there is a THUD sound from the front wheels. The sound is like the wheel has been pushed up and dropped abruptly.

2.The same sound comes after the back wheel goes over the Speed Braker.

This the same case when driven over pothholes.

Is this a charectristic of SWIFT and I have never driven a car which rattles worse than a rattle snake.

Sounds come from;

1. Dashboard
2. B Pillar
3. Windows
4. Doors
5. Seats Squeeking

GOSH Terrible, I feel sorry for him

Thud sound in a new Swift? That is hard to diagnose.

I agree, no other car has given me driving stress other than a Swift.
I hate my Swift - very abnormal car, a piece of Lump.

(you only get to know how abnormal it is once you drive other brand of cars)

ajit i have having the same dilema as your brother.

New Zxi having sounds from front, i suspect it to be steering column.

Sound comes after first service.

I don't think such noises can be characteristic of the car. It seems like the front and rear suspension might be stiff. Or could it be a case of bad hump and pothole where the bumpers touched the ground???

Swift has a tendency to jump at speed breakers even when you are crossing it at crawling speed. Try crossing the speed breakers in 1st gear instead of 2nd. Also, the car rides better when you have more passengers.

If the car was just recently delivered I suggest you check the air pressure - it might be overinflated. The correct pressure for Zxi is 29.

I guess you are referring to suspension rebound sound, dont know of any knows solutions to the same.

Rattles on a brand new car, not nice the two cars that i have experience with started while nearing 10k marks and was sorted out also.

Take it back to the dealer and get it fixed (free) atleast by first service.

None of the cars have given me "stress" while driving

I felt Swift as one of the cars that take you comfortably even distances over 500 kms

Jaggu: Yes rebound is the right word. So thus it is then a charterstics of SWIFT i guess.

Bro did give vent his anger on the dealer and the car is due to be picked up for Rattle fix and rebound sound.

Check the tyre pressures. My Vxi was delivered to me with 37 psi on all tyres.
Seat squeaking can be eliminated by putting insulating tape on the hooks that hold the rear seat backrest to the C pillars (put down the backrest and you'll know what I'm talking about).
Door panels in the Swift have to be damped. I have not got down to doing this yet. I think this has been discussed in a previous thread.
Unfortunately, some of the rattles you have to live with.
aerohit: I do not think any other swift owner has said that they hate their car. I have driven mine for 32k km over 16 months and enjoyed every bit of it.
