Urgent:Yamaha R1 Quad Carbs & G13b

Hello All,

Need some urgent help, I have been running my esteem on GT engine G13b for about 6K kms now, with a Quad carb setup, Yamaha R1 carb, the combination is working ok, sometimes when i'm revving low there are jerks, to solve this i checked on the net everywhere that R1 carbs need a fuel pressure of 3psi, what is the fuel pressure in the Type 1 Esteem? has anyone setup R1 carbs on a g13b? need some expert guidance urgently, please help me.

The car jerks only at low revs right? get a fuel pump and regulator off a Mpfi esteem, that should solve your problem.

The esteem type 1 has a fuel pressure of 6-7 psi from the pump. to solve the pressure problem all you need to do is increase the dia of the return pipe a bit.

Low revving jerks would typically mean a blockage in the jets somewhere. You will need to open and service the carbs. Most logical place to look would be on the choke circuit.

Thanks Dinar & Keshav,

let me know check the return pipe first and then think about Type2 pump & regulator,
But does esteem type2 come with a regulator? or you mean i need to go for a after market FPR?

An MPFI Pump will destroy the carbs... Dont even try that and even forget the FPR just enlarge the return pipe dia a bit that will defn help.
