Forget the wires. Get one of these. I have it for some time and works just fine. It has it's short comings but there are no messy wires.It has a remote and you can connect your usb/mobile as well. Cost - 900 bucks.

Thanks but I've tried using FM transmitters but the quality is just not the same as with a physical or a Bluetooth connection.

Is 205/65-R15 a safe upgrade for our Civic?
I might still have around 5k on my stocks left, but started with the search.

Am worried whether the extra width can cause the steering control units to work harder.
Also, is the upgrade worth any potential risk, as in, will there be substantial improvement vis-a-vis the stock of 195/65-R15?

I am having 205's on my civic since 2011 and have not issues with these so far touch wood.This is a good upsize , i am running Bridgestones for the last 9K kms.

The things i noticed after i slapped on these tyres are
1- The initial pick up slightly reduced, which is natural as the footprint is larger as the tyres are wider (and they look good too)
2- The steering becomes a bit heavier and weighty which might not be a bad thing.
3- The ground clearance improves and i can ride out speed breakers without much thoughts of underbelly scraping.

I have also not noticed any difference in fuel economy and atmost may have reduced very slightly.

My civic's clutch has become hard although I still don't have any problems with shifting gears. Any way to find out of the clutch has worn out?

Also, reputed shops are putting the cost of the entire clutch kit ( clutch plate, pressure plate, bearing) to around 4k. Is this fine? Southend Honda folks are big cheats....asking for 30k!

What's the ODO reading ? clutch overhaul HASS is around 12K as per members posted on this very thread.4k from a good garage seems good provided they are using genuine spares.I think the hand-brake test method can be used to verify if the clutch is gone bad.

The odo reading is fine. 60kmph in the 4th gear - 2000 rpm and 80kmph - 5th gear 2000 rpm. it's just that the clutch is hard nd mileage has reduced.89k on oem clutch, I think it's time is up. Comments?

I'm looking to buy touch-up paint for my Civic on eBay. I have a rather basic question - what colour is my car? Is it PURPLE or VIOLET?

Its called 'Misty Violet', the color which was discontinued after the 09 facelift.

It is 'Misty Violet' as rightly pointed out by sarathlal. Try going in for Com Paints. They are close to 99% match with the original color and not expensive too. Recently I read somewhere that they have come up with touch-up pens as well.

Have a look at this post - Touch up paint tubes

The member has used Com-Paint's value pack to touch up the scratches on his Ford Fiesta's rear bumper. Pretty good results IMO.

And do have a look at the other posts in the thread too. May be useful.

I barely do 4500km in a year on my Civic. It completes four years this May end. I am thinking of going over to an annual service schedule (with full synth as is now). Any advice.

Doing similarly from my end as well Sir.

My civic too runs less than 5k per year. I use shell semi-synth, changing it every 10 months and send it for a service at the same time. I regularly monitor the oil level though, topping up if needed.

Have heard lot of honda owners here following similar annual regime.

Same here too!

In the first six years I did a hefty 1,28,000+ kms.
This seventh year I did a mere 3,500 kms.

I am on A.S.S based synthetic oil.
Planning to do the oil change only after one year because of low running.
(Even w/o running will the oil hold good for one year? (I don't know).

(Earlier I religiously changed it less than six months as HONDA recommended since my running was high).
