A better place to put this question would be the below thread :

In fact the whole discussion about audio retrofits can be moved there with advantage.

My issue is with the foul smell while using a/c. I did get my a/c system/vents cleaned at the ASC on my last servicing. I also got a cabin air filter installed. But it does not seem to have any effect on the smell. Tried with different brands of perfumes/sticks etc. It only seems to make it worse. My daughter now hates to get into the car due to this. Does anybody here have any really effective solution to this issue?
Vasoo,
Please go through the below mentioned thread if you haven't read it already.

Yesterday, the misus n I went for a long drive to lonavala and back.
During the return journey she noticed that the HU was a little warm. We checked and found the.entire area if the HU and ACC controls were a bit warm whereas rest of the dash was not.
The ACC was on 100% of the time and HU tuned to FM(no CD's playing) and this warm temp was after we had driven a couple of hours.

Is this warm HU common in civics? It wasn't hot, just warm to the touch.

By the way, how is the pick-up and mileage? For instance, mine (Jul 2010 V M/T, 32660 kms) has got a creaking clutch pedal which HASS refuses to lubricate (they want to replace the clutch pedal assembly which is absolute nonsense) but is rewarding me the best mileage I've ever seen - always above 10.5 kmpl in city driving with mixed AC usage and always above 13.5 kmpl on the highway. Pick-up is also very good, so I know that the clutch itself doesn't need replacement yet. It's just the pedal that needs some TLC.

Oops! I was banking on 3M to get rid of this for me on my car. In Hyd I used to wash the car myself around 2/3 times a week and ensured good drying. In Gurgaon now, the car has for the past 1.5 years been at the mercy of the colony car cleaner and the very hard supply water. The deposits especially around the quarter glass panes/beadings, ORVM edges, front grille, bumper crevices, fog lamp enclosures and windshield base are quite visible on a black car. :(

The body treatment guys at HASS said it's quite easy to get rid of them, but I didn't ask them exactly what they would do. The reason I trust what I heard is because it came from a cleaner and not a supervisor/SA. I plan to get this done next month. Let's see.

Regards,
spadix
I tried something daring, and happy to report it worked ( I am reporting this after a month's observation, so no long term harmful effects to the paint). . After failing with upmteen cleaning solutions, vinegar etc, I used "Pure Descale powder" that came with my Samsung washing machine and voila, my four year old car looks four years younger !

The process I followed is as below.

1) Dissolved one pack (100 g) Pure descale powder in 1 lit of water.
2) Squirted fee drops on to an extra soft bristle tooth brush.
3) Used the brush to gently rub the hard water stains from all nooks & crannies.
4)Rubbing softly back and forth for about 30 seconds did the trick for all painted surfaces (below the window sill beading, door stip, below the side view mirror mounting points, around door handles, gap between bumper & body panels etc). I kept wiping off any spray that got around the area being worked for fear of spotting the paint / polish.
5) It took a little more rubbing and elbow grease (arond 1 to 2 minutes) to get hardened, baked in stains from the glass and chrome.
6) Rinsed all areas worked with water and wiped dry.

Note: I missed to rinse one door mirror mount and next day (after about 16 hours) I saw to my horror, a faded drip path running along the fender all the way to the bottom, as if the paint has been attacked. What a relief it was when the residue just came clean by wiping with microfiber. I still wanted to esure that the paint finish is not affected, and hence I waited for a month before reporting this. I do have before and after pictures, but being a newbie toTeamBHP, I am not allowed to post them yet. I am sure this is one solution many fellow BHPians will be keen to try in place ike Bangalore with hard water, especially ifyou have a dark color car.

HU's get warm on use and is quite normal.Even my 800's unit gets piping hot if it's used for several hours. My civic's unit too heats up and that portion of the dashboard feels warm to touch.

Thanks for clearing that up. I'd thought as much but thought I'd ask here since I hadn't particularly noticed this issue in any of the aftermarket HU's in my other cars.
In other news I'd reported a mech error from the cd player earlier on this thread. Now its resolved itsel courtesy Mumbai's crater filled, pock-marked roads and now CDs play just fine.

@gomzi and to others

when a mechanical erros shows up just disconnect the battery for few mins and hit the top of the dash lil hard with hand and re-connect the battery. It works 99.99% of the time.

Folks,

VineetG has replaced his brake pads at around 13000/-.

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian...ml#post3006459

I am also facing this issue.

But I remember frankmehta paid much less for his non-nissin pads.

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/long-t...ml#post2945239

Are these costs OK?

kindly shed some light on this
specially the key and seatbelt issue
Hi,

Just chanced upon your post.

Hope you must have got the solutions to both issues by now.

I had similar problem with my biddings (beadings?).

I simply folded the excess length and fixed it with industrial scotch tape. Is holding for more than one year.

Btw..how are the speakers in the Civic? My problem is, my civic had been submerged last year..gurgaon parking lot in rains :/ After.a hefty repair bill, all is perfect again.
However, I'm asking if there could be water damage to the speakers. There was water in the cabin too. the speakers do work, I just feel they lack the punch now ( or maybe its just me, after hearing too much music on cars with good systems with a sub nd amp)

Try Shell Helix Ultra 0w40. It will really make your Honda engine seem much smoother.
