Hello All,
Two things I have noticed recently, would like to know if they are normal.

After a long drive with AC (always on while driving), water drips from somewhere near under the gear lever, is this alright?

Never bothered to look in the RVM earlier during hard acceleration, but that other day I just took a look and saw quite a cloud of black smoke. Same thing today evening, took off hard in 2nd, something I generally do when the road is free ahead, take RPM close to 3k before changing to 3rd and a quick 4th to follow and then after a small burst in 4th, take 5th and settle down, get a good surge in power till I reach 80-90 and then maintain a constant cruising speed of 90-100 mostly when the roads are good.
Under normal driving, where I generally shift at around 2.5K on the RPM, there is no black smoke, tried the same immediately after I noticed the smoke today eve. Normal behaviour?

I do not usually shut down at signals, AC is always running, I am getting 9.5-10 kmpl consistently with normal diesel on Bangalore city roads for more than a year now.

Input/comments are very much welcome.

Regards.

Yes, this is pretty normal. Nothing to worry.

System D can help to some extent. But, diesels do smoke under hard acceleration. Thats just in the nature!! Nothing to be overly worried about since you have no smoke under normal driving.

Small Update
The BEAR having run for 35K kms I was getting the tyre rotation done. The right side tyres were done without any issues. i.e. front to rear and vice versa.
However the front left side tyre dint budge (dint come off) and was somehow jammed!!! Thank god this did not happen at night with the family!!!
Further there was alot of play in the Front Left tyre. So I sent the BEAR to the workshop and they changed a part and now its fine. The part cost approx 800-900 bucks and was changed under warranty so FOC. I will upload a scanned copy of the bill later in the day!!!

Your Bangy mileage is brilliant. I used to get 8-8.5 in Bangy and am getting the same in Mumbai now. Guess its up to driving style 'coz i have extracted 14kms+ in a purposely leisurely Bangy-Chennai drive.

Rahulk76,

Thanks for sharing the Delphi Dicor Sample Schematic layout. This definitely helps me in understanding the technicalities a bit more for the Dicor.

Rideon.

The front wheel had a lot of play in it, Play in the sense that when the vehicle was jacked up and the steering wheel was locked. I was able to move the wheel with my hands. Move not as in rotation but left & right.
Are you getting my point???

So I thought that its better get it checked up before my basic warranty expires.1st Nov 2009 will be the 2nd birthday for the BEAR
