Guys,
Just got the truck out post the 15 k service, the mechanic at TASS advised me to get back the vehicle at 20k to replace the Gear - Box Oil, (only after 5000 km!!!) subtract that to the next service interval of 7500km, that means the truck will be in service at every 5000km, I found that absurd.
Pls comment.

Transmission oil change is at 20k. You might as well ask them to carry out the next service then and rework the intervals from there on.

About 3-4 days back noticed a leak on the sump guard. Since there were no other visible symptoms, did not bother much. Yesterday noticed that the entire power steering assy was swathed in oil and a muddy oil stain starting from the assy down to the right arm and chassis.

Surprisingly the p/s oil still shows close to max level in the oil container.

it seems that the build quality of the 2.2 is a bit below that of the 3.0 as well. and the worrying bit is that the niggles and problems are there right from teh first batch to the latest vehicles.....

Turned out to be a washer gone bad Replaced FOC. Had to pay for 0.5 ltr of PowerSteering Fluid.

2.2L too has heated external rear view mirrors. Just found about it last day.

Only on EX and VX which have rear defoggers. It is mentioned in the manual too

Hello all,

Can someone please confirm if the internally adjustable ORVM switches are backlit illuminated at night when the lights are switched on?
After my vehicle came back from the TASS with a new left ORVM, the ORVM switches on the driver door are not backlit when i switch on lights at night.
I dont remember if they were backlit(illuminated) earlier. Can someone please confirm this in their EX/VX ?

Not as far as I can remember but will double check this tonite

1. When the rear defogger is switched on, the ORVMs automatically heat up as well.
2. The ORVM adjuster switch is not backlit. Only the power window switches are backlit + the power window lock switch (glows green if locked)

I do not have a power window lock switch in my EX. Is it supposed to be there?
