Same with my car, it comes down quickly to the 1/2 way mark and goes down to empty pretty slowly in summer/winter ,maybe its not calibrated very accurately.
No, your car is the opposite. His car shows higher FE for the first half, which means the first half comes down very slowly.

There's a very simple reason for this. The float in a tank will be at maximum level whether the petrol is filled to the brim, whose level is the same as the top of the float, or slightly below, whose level is the same as the bottom of the float. So you may use 5 litres, and the float will still be at its highest point, and thus your fuel gauge will still show Full.
