Where those prices before or after this drop. Could you check the prices in the list I posted to the one on autocar.

Is this really good news? Whenever HM attempts to localise, it results in a disaster. Compare a year 2000 Lancer to a Year 2007 Lancer and see the difference in quality for yourself. I may be part of the smaller group here, but I'd rather let Mitsubishi handle the quality control for the parts of my car than an incompetent HM. Even at a price premium of 25 - 30% more.

A recent review on the Cedia (I think it was from Pioneer) on our forum has the thread starter commenting that the overall quality of his Cedia is not like year 2006 examples.

That's the exact same thing I said in my post. The latest example as I have only recently got parts replaced.

Suddenly my 4 years of good experience is getting negated.

Thanks Reign for the good news! I would be going to Lathangi next week to get windscreen replaced. Hope they do it properly.

Guys if you want to see the cost of these part and for more , they are available in the latest issue of Autocar

Here's the price list from ACI, Jan08 issue, page no. 137. These are supposed to be MRP, Mumbai and include taxes. Have tried my best to copy the information accurately. Bangalore prices should be in the vicinity of these.

Air filter 350
Oil filter 141
Wiper blades (pair) 1422
Spark plug(entire set) 932
Timing Belt/Chain 3470
Fan belt/drivebelt 937
Front brake pads (set of 4) 3400

A/C evaporator coil 17500
Radiator hose set 900
Front Strut/shock absorber 4573
Front brake disc/drum 2200
front suspension lower arm 3850
clutch and pressure plate 5750
clutch release bearing 1206

front bumper 8400
wheel rim (each) 6000
front fender 4400
bonnet 11920
radiator 11796
front door 12050
bootlid/tailgate 9700
headlight assy (each) 5235
tail-light assy (each) 6886
Front windshield glass 8543
side mirror (with casing) 4300

Front bumper for my lancer cost me 3200. Side ORVM about 2300. total including Fog lamp grill and side indicater should be around 10 grands.

I recently got a call from A guy from Mitsubishi Motors. It was a call back in context to a feedback complaint I had made on the phone.

The guy is supposed to visit us tommorow to check out the issues.

edit: I forgot to add that these Stupid dealer mechanics spoiled my cd changer.

Very true and I quite agree with that. However there's no drop in quality on Cedia parts as I mentioned. Same parts as before, imported from Mitsubishi JP at lower prices. Where does the question of lower quality come in?

I beg to disagree. I've driven a 2006 Elegance atleast a few hundred km during test drives. The quality is exactly the same as the current ones. In case of the Sports variant, the car actually has more features now than in 2006.

In 2006 it had a velour interior which has been replaced with leather now, had a kenwood stereo which has been replaced by a more feature rich blaupunkt and also comes with fogs which were missing before. Opening the engine bay shows exactly the same parts.

I'm not sure why people start spreading rumors without checking it out themselves. I can't speak about the lancer cos I haven't checked it well enough to comment but as far as the Cedia is concerned, there's no drop in quality.

Oops... Sorry... I made a mistake in the overall cost of parts... It reads (from ACI Jan08) as follows:

Total cost of spare parts as surveyed in Dec06 = ~Rs.2.07L
Total cost of spare parts as surveyed in Dec07 = ~Rs.1.35L

Nearly 35% drop in prices.

@reignofchaos, I am also yet to hear from anyone (including T-BHPians) that the quality of 2007 CEDIA has come down. I myself TDed a 2006 CEDIA (in Dec06) and bought a 2007 CEDIA in Feb07.

surprise surprise, The guy was from the dealership. I showed him the shoddy work and he is ready to get it redone for no extra cost.

will post an update once done.

Forget "checking it out themselves", here is an actual owner of the car who has attests the drop in quality:

I have experienced what HM did to the Lancer, and refuse to give them any credibility.

agree: . The best part about Mitsubishi is the quality of parts. It would be a disaster if left to HM.
We had a 2004 lancer and it was a gem of a vehicle.

hi, guys. i receved a letter from the mistu dealer about the sercive due this week and they sent a new leaflet showing the new MRP of the new mitsu's parts. its kool that some parts are reduced to more than its earlier price.

have a look ..

Definitely they got their act right now according to your report. Their pricing was always on the higher side ever since they set their foot on our soil.
