Weird Spots on Car Body and Glass (Possibly due to mosquitoes)

I have been seeing a weird issue on my car only during summers. The car body and glass area is covered with weird spots as shown in images below. These spots are somewhat semi-hard and don't all go away with a simple wipe of microfibre cloth. They need to be removed with shampoo/waterless wash for clean removal. I have observed these spots on my old car as well as my new car when parked in my apartment parking.

My car is parked in somewhat low light area of our apartment covered parking, with some dense bushes blocking the back side of parking. With the onset of summer, the number of mosquitoes go up significantly in and around the car parking area. I am very positive the mosquitoes are leaving these spots on the car. (They don't seem to be mosquito eggs). The spots are never seen when there are no mosquitoes.

I am frequently behind the society management to frequently have the area sprayed with fog, but looking to see any other permanent solution that can be used in car.

Has anyone seen anything like this? Any suggestions for the same?

That looks like pollen or maybe tree sap droplets, but it's most likely pollen. It takes a bit of effort to wash off, but it won't harm the paint unless it's left on for too long. So I wouldn't worry too much—and that's definitely not mosquito eggs.

My car is always parked near a bunch of trees, and these spots are common on it. I’m not sure, but I guess they’re pollen or something related to the trees. I don’t think they’re related to mosquitoes.

It’s likely either pollen or tree sap, avoid using anti mosquito fog very near your paint as it can leave an oil film behind. Pressure wash to remove safely and apply a high quality ceramic coating for ease of cleaning in the future.

Thanks for the response. Mine is a covered car parking inside the building with no tree close by. The only bush is a creeper on the back side of the parking. Also since the parking is closed there is no wind to carry the particles. So definitely not tree sap, and the creeper pollen season is typically in monsoon. I have seen these spots only when there are mosquitoes, otherwise I don't see them on my car.
I will still try to find a bit more on the pollen as well as mosquitoes.

Thanks for the heads up on excessive mosquito fog on paint; will take care not to overdo it.
I do have a good quality ceramic coating applied, but still these spots become difficult to remove.

re: Weird Spots on Car Body and Glass (Possibly due to mosquitoes)

Faced this for three years in Alwar. This is because of the bees (in Alwar Rajasthan) that drop these yellow spots all over the place, including the car.

The solution that I discovered was that there is a fixed path these bees follow and if you can find a clean spot then the car will be spared. Atleast in alwar, these droppings were so severe where I lived, that the whole concerete road had a yellowish spots expect for a few places that helped me find the appropriate parking spot.

Could be bees/flies as well as they leave similar yellow spots on glass.

Assuming your coating is healthy and beading water aggressively, I’d say you need a better pressure washer.

Get a washer putting out at least 120 bar at 10-11L/min and you’ll easily remove the spots with just water, this eliminates the risk of swirls which will otherwise be guaranteed owing to constant wiping with a towel on a dusty surface.

Please check whether you can clear out the bush that is nearby to the parking. Even if it does not solve the spots in the car, less mosquitoes are better for your own health

Any building maintenance activities happening nearby?

Long ago when my home was getting painted these sort of spots used to appear on my cars which were parked a good distance away from where the actual painting was taking place.

Re: Weird Spots on Car Body and Glass (Possibly due to mosquitoes)

It's probably the mosquito poop. I've faced similar issues with mosquitoes and houseflies on my car as well. There are no permanent solutions to get rid off them completely.

Generally they prefer wet/clean surfaces. I've noticed them after whenever I clean my car and rarely when my car gets covered by dust.
You can use good cleaning agent or vinegar coupled with water to clean these off and wipe them dry with a micro fiber cloth. Using a car cover is another good idea to prevent these in the first place.

- Yes, houseflies I think since I've never "witnessed" the act or could even be mosquitoes. Shouldn't be anything else as those 2 are the only ones we have around.
- Any glass cleaner with some hand pressure does the job. Even soap-water/car wash works too.

You guys are absolutely right. I did a quick search and it looks to be mosquito poop!
See below link where someone saw a mosquito in the 'act'. Those are the same spots I see on the car.

I never thought I would have to Google this, let alone worry about it happening on my car

I guess I'll just have to keep cleaning it out with shampoo/micro fibre or pressure washer, as suggested by fellow members. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Unfortunately - and not that it's a competition - houseflies are nastier! I've had the misfortune of having a white car in the past, and having seen houseflies in action on it <insert vomit emoticon here>. They don't even care if you're cleaning the surface right there, they'll make deposits on the other edge right on your watch. They're too tiny to me to notice details without a magnifying glass but I could swear I've seen finger salutes.
