Hey Wildon, where should I look for the VIN on my Fiat Linea? I tried the normal places (side doors, under the bonnet) but could not find it.

Wildon, I got the form 22 today, It says that the billing has been done on april 21st & the car is BS-4 compliant.

I checked with the concerned staff in the company & it is BS-4 only.

This is interesting , as the other member 'RaguHolla' who first got a Feb'10 Vehicle, was of BS III . see his post below and make sure the things.

The previous VIN MAJBXXMRTBAYXXXXX is BS III. So Ford sent me new vehicle with VIN MAJBXXMRTBAS8XXXX (hopefully BSIV). Could you please decode this and let me know as much details as possible from this Vin.

Ford marks BS IV Fiesta's also in its Chassis/Engine sticker (rear right window) as STG4 (e.g. Ford Fiesta 1.6SXI STG4), earlier vehicles didn't have this mentioned.

Other buyers beware that Form 22 from Ford mentions a comment/note of BSIII and BS IV, and what that abbreviation means. Dealer might force you to think that this note itself is sufficient. You have to check BSIV compliant directly against in vehicle description against in note to find out the emission compliance. My dealer try to force the vehicle , I flatly refused. Check emission confirmation before you buying the same if you are one of the cities where BS IV is must.

i know its quite odd. But form 22 says BS IV compliant. Maybe the company modified its existing stock from BS III to BS IV.

TATA Indica Vista Aqua

Hi friends,
One of my friends is buying a TATA Indica Vista Aqua. The VIM number provided to him is 611421BQZP17046. I am not able to decode it. Can someone please help.

He has been given an option of buying a 2009 or 2010 model. So he is trying to find out this VIN belongs to which model.

He wants to take delivery as early as later in the day - all cash transaction.
help.

This is a 2009 Model manufactured before April (Most Probably Feb'09 Model).
For 2010 models look for the 10th and 12th letters of VIN which represents Year and Month respectively.

i.e if the 10th Digit is A then its 2010. if the 12th digit is D then its April.

Also 2010 VIN has 17 Digit/Letter in Total and will look like this

Hi Wildon,
I took the delivery of the vehicle with the VIN ... MAJBXXMRTBATXXXXX
I am yet to get the form 22 from the dealer.
I don't see the BS3/ BS4 marked anywhere on the the vehicle.

Will update once the Form 22 is available .
In my opinion it can be a BS3 vehicle that got upgraded to BS4.

There is a sticker on the front wind shield with the number 16 week written , so I am hoping its a April manufacture .

Cheers,
vmedury
