I have A cat in my house.I guess i am safe.Thank good my sister has had the cat always.My Cat won't spare any rats or pigeons around our buildings i guess all the cars are safe here. So get a Cat !!!

This thread is long enuf = lots of rat problems for many people, may be lots of solutions too.
Rats have started their stay in my A6. favourite food currently is my wiper washer system.
Before I find out what their next favourite chewing passtime would be. I would like to know a working solution for this problem, any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Once you have this washer system changed, bring back the old half-eaten one and keep it under your car every night!
Hopefully the rats will keep at it; a taste they have already acquired!

A constipated python itself is a miserable sight, why do you want to aggravate matters by turning it into a incontinent python! In my opinion a purgative won't be needed if the car is Teflon-coated. You can expect it to come out clean, in flying colours!

These freaking RAT's have found solace in my Palio S10 now. Have chipped at the ICE main wire in the engine bay and created all nuisance in the car.

Got the car cleaned and then Mortien Rat killer cake/biscuit put overnight in the car floor. The buggers have eaten all the mortien and run away. I put in more mortien next day to be safe but they ahve eaten that also and created havoc all over again.

This weekend wouold put in the bottle brushes man.

Anyone has any more ideas here?

Our member zero_critical has applied many formulas to keep away rats. Last thing is to keep sticky pads and rat traps, If that also not helps then you have to call pest control guys.

Best of luck, hope they doesnt come near your gypsy. (fingers crossed)

Khan bhai, there is a opening for wire from engine bay to the cabin just get that covered. @t Concorde they used a sticker kind of thing to cover it up which solved the problem.

btw if those rats have eaten "rat kill" then in matter of a day or 2 they will be gone dont worry... rat kill works slow

Sir.. i'm here!!!!

Rat kill is very slow.. so no point putting cakes everyday..

1st step.. Sprinkle Tobacco powder in engine bay area.
2nd step.. put sticky pads near front tyres from where they climb up to the bay.

These 2 steps have an immediate effect and will prevent further destruction of wires and pipes under the hood!!

Edit: One more thing. Change the direction of the way car is parked. Park it in reverse way. Rats usually follow the same path everyday by smelling. So just to confuse them.

The mention of those rats bring back unpleasant memories.... ughhh

They chewed my ice wiring, my light wiring, my damn seats and the freaking fuse box

... all this in a month when I was away

I tried many things, finally somebody suggested putting camphor in the interior to keep them away, the only downside being smelling like a camphor shop.

I dont know the magic, my car for the past eight months has been totally rodent free, although the smell can get strong at times but it is something I live with....

i too heard bout this.. Tried it too.. but was constantly worried that the camphor might catch fire due to the engine heat. hence washed it away..
