How to get i20 N-Line steering feel in my regular i20?

Greetings!

Over the last year or so, I was able to test drive i20 N-Line, Petrol and Diesel to decide which one to buy.

Of the 3, I noticed that the N-Line felt a tad bit sharper to drive and the steering felt a little more weighted than the other 2.

I ended up going for the Diesel MT though, considering it's not going to be primarily driven by me. Despite this over the last month or so I did drive it around quite a bit and missed a more weighted steering, considering my daily driver is an Innova Crysta.

Was wondering if anyone has figured out what exactly is different technically with the N-Line's steering and if anyone has explores swapping the parts to make their i20's steering feel like the one on the N-Line.

Hyundai or its dealers won't entertain this request, else who will buy the N-Line variant?

Before you reach the dealership for the N-Line's steering tune & feel, do the simplest thing. Upgrade your tyres to something fatter. 205 mm rubber? That will alone add some weight & heft to your steering. If you choose some really good sticky tyres from premium brands, your car will outhandle a stock N-Line .

Drive the i20 around for some more months, I think it is too early to reach a conclusion that you need to swap something out in your new car.

If part numbers of normal i20 turbo petrol is same as diesel , you may be able to swap out the N line suspension on your diesel , else the swap may not work since diesel engines tend to be a bit heavier, you will feel that weight on the steering and it is not nice to drive a nose heavy car.

The 'trick' then was probably differences in alignment numbers among the three.

You may want to check that out and adjust accordingly with the diesel now.

It is to be noted however that the weighted feel of the steering is not solely due to the wheel being different, there seems to be more to it with respect to the electronics of the steering rather than the external hardware (Steering wheel) itself. You could get the steering wheel aftermarket perhaps, but it will not give you the same feel mas it did on the Nline. Hope this helps!
