If you are worried about rats coming back, you might want to try the LED strobe lights that you can mount under the hood. It is programmed to start strobing when the engine is off, draws negligible power. I had it for more than 4 years, and it kept the rats away. You only need to make your car less comfortable than your neighbor's car. I installed something like this. Linky

Rats had gotten into my car twice, and had chewed up a lot of stuff. This was even after I had installed all kinds of scents and ultrasonic things. The LED strobe lights certainly worked much much better for the rats in my area. Not sure if Desi rats are smarter.

Got the car back yesterday after the repair and everything is fine so far. Lets hope the car continues to perform like it should.

I was happy to see the way the Audi Service Centre looked after the car even though it was at the service centre lying idle for almost 3 weeks. It came back exactly the same as I had given it; not a single scratch or scuff on it which is usually the case at other service centres for car kept for this period of time. Overall experience was very good.

Liability through insurance was approximately 3 lakhs. Very steep for just a wire repair job. We had to pay a total of around 4.3k (2.3k for insurance claim process and 2k for fuel).

This looks like a clear case of insurance fraud.

For parts costing Rs. 7,000 for wire repair having a labour charge of Rs 3 lakh is absurd.

You have lost your No Claim Bonus and left with only 1 more Zero-Dep claim for remaining tenure of your insurance policy.

Tomorrow if rats bites off wires again; will they start billing you Rs. 3 lakh per bite.

I'm surprised how did this pass through HDFC Ergo Surveyor; since HDFC is a very stringent company.

More so, for a wire repair why is there a need to invoke insurance claim?

I wish to be proven wrong but this is totally insane.
