What modules are locked from adaptations and require an SFD unlock? I own a 2024 Skoda Kushaq and my Ross Tech cable is arriving in a few days. Is getting the SFD token a difficult process?
To my knowledge its the Body controller, Instrument cluster, Steering and Brakes. Which more or less means most of the mods need SFD unlock. Not sure how VCDS accomplishes this with the token and where you would get it from. Only OBD11 can do it apart from the ODIS online login.

Cars made April 2024 onwards have SFD2 Protection and VCDS/Obd11 cannot work on those modules (digital cluster, BCM).

Even obd11 with subscription won't work on them? I think I just wasted money on buying the cable then

Upon doing some research I think only the following adaptations will work without requiring an SFD token:

Improve torque vectoring with XDS (Expanded Electronic Differential Lock)
Enhanced Throttle Response
Dynamic Steering Weight
Auto Climate Control Menu Option on Infotainment Screen
Display reasons for unavailability of Engine Idle Auto Start / Stop system
Display Offroad Menu on Infotainment

10 inch Infotainment
Display Sport Menu on Infotainment
Beats Audio / Dynaudio Sound Signature for Amplifier
Change Color Theme of Infotainment System

Automatic Climate Control
Display Automatic Climate Control Fan / Blower Speed in AC Auto Mode
Improved AC Performance for Better Cooling

Push Start Stop Button
Engine Start Stop Button Pulsation

After getting the cable I'll update if this is the case or whether more adaptations can be done without requiring the token.

Very nicely done mods @audioholic. I get very tempted to mod my car after reading about your mods. Then I need to remind myself that you work with ECUs daily and this is literally a walk in the park for you not for mere mortals like me.

@audioholic I need your help, or anyone in this sub!

I recently got the cable. Like a sane person I started going into auto-scan first too see if there are any fault codes, and there were, like its a new car and I'd assume some fault codes to be developed, but the faults were pointing to bcm. (Implausible data...) My car was working perfectly fine up to this point. Now before starting the coding, like any sane person, I tried to backup control channel maps, while it was backing up everything I felt the MID modes switching a bit. After backing up everything and before starting the coding, I decided to restart the car, (I had the car engine running with hood open so that the battery doesn't discharge).

Now after restarting I see none of the steering buttons are working. I never coded anything, just saved the fault codes initially and backed up channel maps with oem adaptations for my reference. I even tried to turn off, get out of the car, lock it, wait 5 mins then start again. The car honked while starting, steering theme has changed (probably the factory one) and none of the buttons are still working. There's no warning lights as such. Please help me out here! I can put the fault codes here if you need, let me know if we need to mask the VINS (im not yet apt with the rules of the forum). The car hasn't gone into limp mode, neither shows any warning/ check engine lights
