It looks like there is more and more crackdown on banning Aliexpress. All it has done is just let bulk importers make more money by charging higher premiums and in addition to that taxes. OT for the thread but banning Aliexpress was a stupid idea and that's it. Now I can't even access the site whereas I could do that earlier from my home internet, not mobile.

Agree. The bulk importers continue to import and resell for a ridiculous markup as before - I have seen 300 - 400% markup on some products I was interested in. None of this is about security, its all business, a scam.

These blades look much nicer than the budget stock ones. Did you get them in the stock size of 24X18 or did you upsize? Also, I'm assuming it's the standard 'U' hook.

I couldn't find 24 but instead went with 26in for drivers side. It fits perfectly without any interference with the passenger side wiper. Yes it's the standard U hook.

Now I can configure AC through infotainment, far easier than reaching out to those touch controls:
Do you think the TPMS can be enabled in the ABS section?
Because AFAIK Skoda usues ABS sensor values to get TPMS, so it's possible that the feature was always there but only enabled later on, 2022 batch onwards?

Yes it must be. I have seen Adaptations in ABS for the same. But it will be a series of adaptations that might have to be done and not just one click.

What does the Active Info Display section do? When we touch those circles, it says that car needs to be stopped for displaying anything there.

Also, my Virtus has a some of unrecognized modules as per VCDS and even the recogilnized modules need security key for adaptation. Is it the same with all MQB-A0IN cars?

The steering is still very light at low speeds and in the initial few degrees of turning. After that it weighs up very nicely and gets harder especially as speeds increase. What is also very noticeable is that the steering assistance is now precise to the point you want to turn and not excessive as before. Hence this along with the upgrade to Vredesteins have completely changed the steering response.
Thanks Audioholic. I have recently purchased an original VCDS cable from ross-tech through a cousin in the US. Playing with it for the last 3 days and did some tweaks on my Virtus GT:
  • Disabled 80/120 kmph speed alarm.
  • Enabled the new RPM meter.
  • Set AC to more air in HVAC.
  • Set comfort blinkers to 5 blinks.
  • Changed the instrument cluster color.

I'm looking to change the steering profile to "Dynamic" but access to changing that adaption requires a SA code. Could you help by giving the SA code for Steering Assist you used to change in your Slavia ?

Cheers!

Access codes can be found here - https://forums.ross-tech.com/index.php?threads/19270/ I guess what worked for me is 19249 but I dont remember since its since many months that I have tweaked the steering. But either of the first two listed in that link works.

I guess the unrecognised modules might be because of a VCDS version issue. I have tried my 21.9 in a Virtus and it has worked. Try opening the bonnet while you do this. Have seen in the internet that some people do this. For security codes you can try the ones in the link I have shared above.

Yes I am, was in Germany for a few weeks and even otherwise pretty busy with work and other commitments. Anyway, here is the entire controller adaptation map for your reference.
VCDS tweaks for Skoda / Volkswagen MQB A0 IN platform cars-controller-map-infotainment.jpg

I have shared both the XLS file and an image, but the list is long with some 1200+ channels. You have to refer to vehicle functions list and BAP control related adaptations. I tried to replicate changes on another members car without this list and was unsuccessful in getting the Climate behavior settings. His car had the AC tweak and it wasnt really making a huge difference so we tried this.

Re: VCDS tweaks for Skoda / Volkswagen MQB A0 IN platform cars

Has anyone figured out how to configure this button?

Can it be set answer/ end phone calls?

+1, I'm eager to see if this is possible. In the Slavia, I'd configure this to auto start/stop due to the awkward current placement of the button. But a dedicated call connect/disconnect button is also a good option.

Re: VCDS tweaks for Skoda / Volkswagen MQB A0 IN platform cars

Some tips and caution for those who want to code cars:
  • I would encourage anyone who is interested to tweak their cars to do it themselves, and understand the details of what exactly happens in the background before changing something. DIY also gives you the possibility to quickly revert all the changes in case you need to take the car for service or for any warranty related issue.
  • Changing long coding or adaptation channels does not flash new software into the ECU, and just enables function the ECU was already meant to do. So you are not pushing the limits of the system beyond what it was built for. However, the service center can deny warranty if they see visible changes. So its always better to revert these changes(at least the visible ones) before you go with a complaint
  • One such person I knew had an issue with his auto folding mirrors and even though coding had nothing to do with it, the ASC refused to entertain any warranty claims and in fact were polite enough to ask him to revert the changes before bringing in the car. However, if the ASC is not so nice, they can make a remark in the service history of the car to indicate these changes and refuse future warranty claims.
  • If you want it easy, then use an app based service such as OBD11 or Carista. Forget tweaking VCDS unless you are willing to put the effort to understand whats happening
  • If you are using VCDS then the application always maintains logs of the adaptations you do and the coding changes. Keep them safe for quick revert and troubleshooting. Always run full scans of ECUs before changing the coding. The scans have coding strings stored in your laptop and you can revert all long coding changes in one shot in case needed
  • Only make changes that you really need. No point in tweaking a lot of things that are of no practical need. For example, changing rear brake lights to act as indicators, or rear DRLs is totally unnecessary IMO which would just serve no purpose. Rear DRLs are meant for Nordic countries where the daylight is so gloomy and in snowy conditions cars are difficult to view from a distance. Here in India, its a wastage of the LED bulb life to have it on all the time and would just invite a premature replacement which costs a bomb
  • Only change very obvious adaptations and avoid changing things like long hex strings which define lighting configuration etc. All it takes is one bit in this string to be written wrong which will cause unexplainable misbehaviour.
  • Check for DTCs in controllers you make changes in and keep track of any new DTCs after enabling something. Not all DTCs would cause check engine light or EPC lights but will be visible in the history and will unnecessarily attract attention when car goes for service or in the event of a breakdown.
  • There are some adaptations such as enabling AC Controls on the head unit, displaying performance figures etc which need additional data to be read on the CAN BUS. Since the vehicle has a single CAN network with different priorities given to signals, the adaptation also has to assign the priority for the data to be read/written. For this, stick to 'Comfort data bus' and not 'Powertrain Data Bus'
  • Do not change values like bus timeouts, ignition off times etc which deal with the entire car network since these timeouts have to be in sync and a single change might cause mismatch and lot of bus errors due to missing communication

Have extensively searched for any tweaks for this but it isnt possible as a direct adaptation or coding. The Start Stop button is hardwired to the BCM and there is no possibility of a soft switch assignment. Even the head unit has a virtual switch for start stop but it has to still be physically wired to the same pin of the BCM as the toggle switch in the gear console.

Re: VCDS tweaks for Skoda / Volkswagen MQB A0 IN platform cars

One question - how do you get the AC operation on to the entertainment system screen? Does it work on the older 10" system (the one with the subwoofer)?
Cheers.
