Tata Harrier - Whistling sound inside the cabin, near the sunroof

Fellow BHPians,

I took delivery of my Tata Harrier 2022 KZR Edition 10 days ago and have driven ~350 kms. Lately, I noticed a whistling noise in the cabin (noise similar to wind entering the cabin through an opening) near the sun roof when the car crosses ~is 60 kmph. This is very prominent if i turn off the AC and open the sun blind keeping the glass shut.

I took the car to the service center today (Key Motors Service Center - Bikasipura, Kanakpura Road, Bangalore) and demonstrated the issue to the service head and a senior tech. They acknowledged the problem and took the car to check it in detail. They have taken 2 days time to narrow down the issue and they were also mentioning that they will record a video with the problem and send it to Tata Motors for their recommendation.

Honestly, I am little disappointed that a car that is 10 days old is showing this up. Is there any other Tata Harrier owner that has experienced such problem and have been able to rectify it? If someone is aware of this issue and the potential resolution, could you please share it? Thanks in advance.

Probably an issue with the sunroof beading. What did the service guys have to say prima facie?

Thanks. They did mention the same. The narrowed down the issue by sealing the suspected beading area with a tape. The noise went away. Now, I have been called to the SC on Monday (01/08) to get the beading redone. They were mentioning that it must be done by a vendor (Tata's usual vendor for sunroof related issues). I am hoping they will go a perfect job in fixing it. I will keep the thread updated with how the job goes.

My guess is this has to do with the glass setting i.e gaps and flushness. Common issues with a sunroof is wind noise because of a gap. Don't worry. This is not a major issue.

Try asking them to loosen the glass and push it towards the front of the car.

Folks, This was fixed by replacing the sunroof beading. I had to wait for a couple of days to get the part delivered. Post that, the issue is resolved.
