i would say a faulty cap with leaking valve. needs replacement. unless u are not losing coolant fast.

Do you have an engine gasket leak ? If that happens the coolant tends to get over fast since it enters the engine compartment, also sometimes you have a bit of engine oil showing up in the coolant too.

If thats the case you need to overhaul your engine quickly. Have a reputed mechanic take a look and they can advise you if thats the case.

Your problem sounds exactly like what happened to my previous car. I earlier neglected it, but later led to major overhaul / repairs.
