Go digit is basically the worst company to go to for insurance, people head their way in lure of cheaper premiums but they forget thay you will be cheated if you accept invite from cheats.

Somehow, i feel Skoda has messed up this case. No OEM accepts defect liability easily

Will need a very competent technical person to find the root of the issue

I sure hope not. However, with the state of the roads in some of the cities here, a bad/big enough pothole will bend any axle. This is especially true considering congested road conditions and people tacking potholes at odd angles and some of them not even being visible until the very last minute.

Sorry for yoir mishap, glad that everyone is safe. The safety mechanism of the car worked exactly as it should work in order to make the occupants safe. The Insurance company should be brought to task here. If they are not budging, please get Ombudsman, IRDAI involved.

The problem with these new gen insurance providers is they offer less premium and get the business and then back out on frivolous reasons when there is a claim.

From what has been written and from the pictures I see, my preliminary assessment says, the airbags are NOT supposed to deploy. Which could mean a possible defect in the product. And with Skoda, the lesser said the better.

I'm of the same opinion, the insurer doesn't have much of a role here. One example of what I was referring to in my previous post.

FYI. I had plaster from my building falling off during Cyclone Takutae during the lockdown and those heavy blocks damaged my i20. Filed a claim with Godigit and it was satisfactorily processed pretty quickly. I recently switched 2 cars to Acko.

Weird that both cases mentioned here are Skoda. Given their share of the market size, isn't that too much of a coincidence? And the same curtain airbags going off?

To the best of my knowledge, it's a but trigger happy to deploy an airbag for going over a pothole.

However, as someone rightly pointed out go to the ombudsman - legally I think Godigit will have to end up paying.

I see acko and godigit begin called out in this thread. Are there any other insurances that one should avoid?
I have both my cars on Acko, mostly due to advertisement/integration on Amazon Prime, but based on the sentiment here, I too will switch back to older insurance players next time.

However in this case I believe the issue was that the owner tried to hide facts and claimed that he was driving the vehicle but that was not the case. Perhaps he panicked and initially gave false information.
