One of my cars is a Hyundai i20. I used to notice that the final service bill was always way higher than the service estimate provided in Hyundai's app. One of the reasons is that I opt for synthetic oil, while the app's estimate is for mineral oil. Recently, I noticed that the cost of Filter Assy-Air was higher than the estimate. On checking, I found that the replaced filter's part number and part number mentioned in the bill were different. I checked the new filter and it was also Hyundai OEM. Still, I asked ASC to replace my car's filter with a filter of the same part number. It turned out that they don't keep stock of lower-priced part. Both ASC and Hyundai are culprits here - Hyundai for selling the same part with different part numbers, one with a higher price. ASC for milking innocent customers.

In my case the parts were:

Price Rs. 266 - This came in car from the factory

For this thread, I checked the air filter and I could see the same. Two part numbers for the same product.

They may look similar, but are we certain that they share the same specifications (materials/quality)? Could be a reason for the higher price, though manufacturers are known to price common parts differently for cars from different segments!

Two part numbers means there is something different between the two, even-though they look 'similar' ; hence the difference in price.

IMHO boodmo is a 3rd party seller of car parts. They are not authorized by the OEM.

The part number assigned by the OEM should be treated as genuine and as per design spec. boodmo should be treated as compatible 3rd party part.

Experts can correct me if I'm wrong.

boodmo is only a platform where Genuine, OEM or after market parts can be sold.

3. Guide Rod Assembly (B) of i20 2008-2014 Part No. 58162-2F300 Cost Rs. 440/-


Whereas The Boodmo Website and the Mobis Spares Shop in our City mentions the following parts against the Elite i20 Asta Diesel of 2015 (Actually these parts are of i20 1.2L Petrol)

1. Guide Rod Boot of i20 2014-2018 Part No. 58164-32000 Cost Rs. 32/-


2. Sleeve Boot Part No. 58166-0X000 Cost Rs. 23/-


3. Sleeve Part No. 58167-32000 Cost Rs. 97/-




Old i20 Rear Rubber Bumper is mentioned under i20 2008 to 2014 but it is meant for old i20 itself as it does not have Dust Cover and the Rubber is also smaller. That Means the Rear Suspension Part is correctly mentioned.

Is the cost of Guide Rod Boot (Rs. 1084/-) due to Part made in Korea and Imported?

The Cost of Replacement of Guide Boots would set me back by Rs. 4336/- if I get them replaced now (as Front Brake Calipers would need 2 on each side). Currently I am using the Guide Rod Boots which cost Rs. 32/- each .
