Hi guys, i'm a new member to this forum. Being spent decent amount of time in viewing a lot of posts and topics on DIY's, i pretty much started to learn a lot of the mechanics that goes into a car. Performed a lot of small and nifty DIY's, thanks to the brave and curious members here.
Straight to the point, I own a Brezza ZDI variant which cost me almost 11.5L on-road back in 2018 and has clocked 32k on the ODO. Being a 2nd top variant, unfortunately misses out on a lot of tech such as the push-start, cruise control, TFT MID and what not!.
I dont even have the privilege of an ORVM indicator at this price point, leave alone electronic folding ORVMs
I always wanted to upgrade it to the max I could from the 1st day of ownership. Some of them came true after I came across this forum. I have pretty much seen a lot of OEM upgrades going into MSIL cars but none with cruise control installation.
After driving the latest gen Honda City CVT for a long stretch, I was on cruise mode for 80% of the drive. Realized the comfort of cruise mode here.
Most of my drives are in the city and a few long drives to my native(approx 400kms) in a year.
There are people who have cruise control add-ons in Hyundai and Toyota cars but this plug and play technique might not work in MSIL cars I guess. In recent times, MSIL has been giving this feature even in the base variants of ciaz, S-cross, XL6 and the petrol Brezza gets it in the ZXI too.
I did some research online regarding this. The parts that are different from the ZDI+ which has the feature and the ZDI is the CABLE ASSYCONTACT COIL and of course the cruise control switches.
The part of ZDI
The part of ZDI+
The 2 parts have a common layout but the ZDI+ has an extra coupler while the ZDI has a dummy one.
The ECM might have to be coded for the same to work but I have little to no idea about it and the service center guys refuse my request as usual.
If anyone has tried this add-on I sincerely request you to guide me through the same.
Thank you,
