BS4 Polo(and Ameo) had the same 165mm ground clearance as that of the Polo Cross. Ground clearance has increased by 3mm in the BS6 Polo.

Yes, Polo Cross was a pretty lame attempt by VW to have a crossover - just like Toyota did with the Etios Liva and Etios Cross.

Re: Increasing the ground clearance of my VW Polo

Despite the popular belief, Polo with its 168mm ground clearance does not face too many issues-in my experience.
I have on one terrible rainy evening, handled ,what could only be described as not a road, but construction rubble filled with water, with large stones hidden. The Polo (GT TSI) managed it without a sweat, although I was drenched in the same in the process. The only trick I did was to switch off ESP. Not a scratch anywhere.

Not sure about the result, but I have read in few places that the Car Suspension Buffer helps in improving the suspension height and comfort marginally.

Some BHPians had tried the same, do use the search option.

Re: Increasing the ground clearance of my VW Polo

I have been using the Rogerab inserts for past 6 years on my jetta. Increases gc by about 15 mm; i hv noted mproved cornering and handling during various drives through all conditions.
Its a cheap and effective solution and does not void any warranties. You can give it a try.

205/60 will be an overkill.

Just to increase the GC, I would suggest you look for 205/55 itself. The GC rise will be around 6 mm, more than enough for the car, and since you are going to get it remapped, so the tyres based load of the 205 isn't going to be felt by the engine at all.

Re: Increasing the ground clearance of my VW Polo

Thanks for these inputs. I am in extended warranty. If changing tire size voids it, I'd rather wait for the warranty to run out.

If the ride height of the vehicle is below specifications (Sagging suspension for instance) , it needs to be fixed. These plastic spacers do not replace a spring, they can be a stop gap solution for certain vehicles that were notorious for Sagging suspension.

Bigger tires are a better and more pocket friendly option. I am running much larger tires on my Octavia and they work pretty fine. I think they are actually Innova spec tires. I haven't lost any comfort or drivability due to this. I think it must work for you pretty well.

These are there in my Jetta that i bought used last week. Wondering if I should remove them. Is stock rear suspension an issue under full load?
