UPDATE: After multiple trips to our service centre with no solution (usual cleaning and nothing else), we decided to try a new dealer. We were expecting maybe new drums and pad wear. The one thing that no service centre checked was the cable. It had a pretty big leak and hence reduced braking power. The cable cost Rs 2500 and now the braking is perfect again.

I can't believe three trips to the service centre and one after another mechanic could not fix this problem!
