Not happy with my Stage 2 tune / remap, now what?

Hi, I have a g20 330i and a stage 2 tune. I didn't feel much difference between stock map and stage 2. I am assuming the software mistook my car to be a 20i and gave me tunes for 20i. Which, the tune for 20i are basically stock level of 30i. Anyone here with any 30i that is either stock nor tuned? Could you do me a favour? Get the idrive to show sports display and keep an eye on what the boost gauge reads during full throttle? Mine reads 20psi with the stage 2 map and I am sure that is stock for 30i. And 15psi with stock map flashed. I use PTF bootmod3, which allows you to log your data and change maps between whatever you have purchased and the stock file. Which it build by looking at the software. I think due to b48D being in both 20i and 30i in Europe and India, that the bm3 software confused my car to be a 20i. Headed to the dealership to drive their test drive 330i and make sure. I hope they ha e the car there.
Also, I am not sure as to where to post my queries and the upgrades I do to my car. If someone, kind enough could direct me as to where to post what. Would be appreciated.
Thanks

I doubt you would have got a tune for the wrong engine variant. What octane tuned did you write to the car? And what fuel are you using?

There is no way that your car would be detected as a 20i and not a 30i in bootmod3 unless you have swapped your ECU entirely. The software looks at multiple values in the ECU to assess which tune is right for your car and not just the engine code. That being said, you mentioned in your introductory post that you were running a custom tune from Halim, he's the guy that makes most bootmod3 OTS maps too. I would reach out to him with full datalogs, he would be the best help you can find.

I would like to elaborate on what Akshay1234 correctly pointed out, the scenario of power increase not being felt is mostly due to low octane. Remember, power is not only about boost but also ignition timing. If your ECU cannot advance timing much due to knock detection, you will leave out on a lot of power. What fuel are you running and what octane map?

I am using stage 93octane map and using 99power. Either way, I will match the stock boost of a factory 330ibwith the boost of my stock file.
Also, as of now I do have a custom E80 tune in process. So it doesn't really matter as I will have an ethanol map for nitrous application. Spraying a small 35 shot till the forged cp pistons are installed. That way I can gap the rings for nitrous use and do a port injection of 25hp each cylinder.
Tuner is suggesting nit to T off if the fuel line with for ethanol tune as the pressure drop won't do any good. Except for the 99ron map, which he says, would not be affected by the minimal pressure drop for a wet shot.
So, I just might get a standalone enrichment system and spray anyway.
Also, the matter has been resolved as they looked into my maps and confirmed that they are indeed for 30i.

Using OTS stage 2 98ron and using 99power. I read on the site and they say, the American standard was used to raise octane. Could that mean the 99power is 99octane and not Ron?

Bm3 guys confirmed my maps/tunes are for 30i. Also, I have a custom tune for ethanol underway.

I would personally recommend running a 91 octane (95 RON) map on power99 fuel. I currently run a 91 octane map on power99+1%proctane which is quite conservative but I think you'll be fine with just power99. Power99 isn't really enough to run a 93 US octane map, do give 91 a try! power99 is supposed to be 99RON or 93AKI (US octane), but who knows what we get in India :P

Well, I did ask my custom tuner if the fuel I am using any good. He said it's good enough as he can see the temperature factor ignition retard. I have no idea how he could tell by that. Buy 93octane is 98ron. And Indian rating is Ron.so 99power would be 94octane. Also, as far as I know. I think we have started using the fuel from saudi Arabia now, instead of Iran. And the octane and emissions are better with the saudi fuel. I ran out of fuel and had 5 litre of normal petrol filled while using 98ron map. And went WOT, no knock sensors were triggered.

I see you have an f30, the f30 b48 has 11:1 compression ratio. Mine has 10.2:1. Are you interested in upgrading the f30? There's pure 400whp upgrade available for your car. I will have to wait some more till someone comes out with something for g20.
Also bigboost USA has a 500hp kit for f30.
Bm3 will soon be offering EWG delete for my car and then will go for an aftermarket turbo with a 3 post boost controller.

Nah man, I don't intend to push this engine to anything greater than stage 1. For me stage 1 is the perfect blend of power and reliability. I rarely get to enjoy 265ish bhp, don't know what I'll do with 400whp :P except put more stress on the car's internals.
