Re: Ford Endeavour 3.2L - Engine problem

Good Day,

I reached home today and am updating a few facts that have come to my attention.
1. Light smoke started coming from the exhaust when Lub Oil leaked from the fuel injector area.
2. Seals were changed on the injectors.
3. No further leak from the injectors.
4. Most probably the electrical malfunction is due to the water sprayed in the engine bay during car wash. At the moment the car can only be shut down by removing one of the relay from the ECU in the engine bay.
5. At present light smoke coming from the exhaust. I am posting the pictures of the exhaust but the haze from the smoke is light and does not register in the picture. I could see the smoke only because the car was parked inside and the smoke accumulated. Colour was greyish white.
6. At present the engine can be revved up but the smoke increases.
7. Small oil leak is visible on a plastic cover(round in shape) mounted on the engine casing just behind the dive belt.
8. Oil level in crankcase is higher than the topmost mark on the dipstick.
9. If I remove the dipstick while the engine is running, air is escaping with oil drops, but no leakage if the dipstick is put back in place.
10. The Ford work shop plans to tow the car away while keeping it in neutral gear, with the engine switched off. Please advise if this is safe or I should opt for a flatbed.
11. Slight rattling sound can be heard with the bonnet open which the guys at Ford said was due to wear of some coating on one of the injectors.
The Endy was with my nephew when all this happened
And expectedly he is not very forthcoming with information.
I will update again on Monday evening.

What does the coolant look like?
Got a cylinder compression test done?
Did Ford manage to fix the engine shutdown issue?

Good morning SS-Traveller,
No issues with the coolant.
The problem has been traced to a faulty turbocharger.
Waiting period is 30 days for a new turbocharger or I can go for a new core sourced from Delhi.
Have placed an order to replace the defective relays to rectify the shutdown issue

Good Day Sir,
Thank you so much for your input and advice.
The Turbocharger and 2 connecting rod bottom end bearings were damaged due to a disintegrated lub oil filter.
This led to choking of the lub oil passage and low pressure.
Engine has been boxed up with a new turbocharger, new con rod bottom end bearings and piston rings for all units.
Car was started today and though it can be revved up in a stand still condition and can be reversed the engine stops when put in the drive mode.
The Ford guys called it a day today hope they can sort out this issue tomorrow.
Any input/advice would be helpful.
Thanks,
Regards,
Abhishek Gupta

Re: Ford Endeavour 3.2L - Engine problem

Good Day,
Thanks for your concern.
The vehicle is in running condition as of now.
Ford did not give any discount.
Have a persistent problem with the vehicle which Ford has been unable to sort.
When started from a cold condition there is a peculiar smell of oil from the exhaust which goes away after a few minutes. Ford says this is normal.
Sai ford jabalpur is not at all proficient in fault finding ND diagnostic

Re: Ford Endeavour 3.2L - Engine problem

Good Day,
I would be very thankful if anyone could tell me the location of the PCV for Ford Endeavour 2017, 3.2L engine.
I asked Ford Jabalpur to change the PCV and they said it is integral to the valve cover and the whole thing would cost 33k.
Somehow I do not believe that the PCV cannot be renewed independently.
Please I need some advice.
Best Regards
