That's sad !! Don't know why a mfr like Maruti doesn't follow a standard protocol for OBDII!!

I am happy to hear that ELM 327 works with Ritz Diesel. I have been searching for a compatible OBD for Ritz Diesel for a very long time.

Since you have confirmed, I am planning to buy one. Can you give me the make, model and approximated price.

Thanks

I bought this from dealextreme. The link is: $26.03 - OBDII Bluetooth Car Diagnostic Cable - Black + Blue + Orange (DC 12V) - OBD/OBD2 Car Diag. Tools

I checked this on a Ritz VDi.

Took about two month since I ordered during Chinese New Year. You should get it within 3-4 weeks normally.

Well, I haven't ever tried OBD, but it seems that the software is just giving you raw data from the OBD port. Why don't you try using a different software ?

tried a GUI based thing just now.
but apparently, there arent that many sensors in the indian fiesta.
plus, the "yippe" bit -> no error codes!

I assume you have a diesel Fiesta?.

Well, On OBD Scope, my IKON gives out 20 gauges where Figo gives out only 15. I can relate it directly to the sensors.

In the PC, OBD spy and Scan Master is a cool software, give out average FE and even 0-100 timings.

btw, are you using Bluetooth OBD or via cable?

re: OBD (On-board diagnostics) for Indian Cars

Anyone found a reliable OBD Software which can accurately report Fuel Economy for Diesel Vehices?

Most of the SW works good for petrol vehicles but results are not reliable on diesel engines.

I've tried many including the paid version of DashCommand but the readings are a bit vague and inaccurate. The one which reported a reasonably accurate result was hOBD but its feature set and interface is primitive.

aww.....
no i dont.
i meant that according to this OBD software, the indian fiesta doesnt have that many sensors.
The earlier one i used, "wOBD" gave a whole dump of text readings, about 15-20.
but was hard to make sense of.
tomorrow im gonna try freeDiag.
lets see.
although i have NO idea why i am trying all of them when already i have checked that there are no error codes...
just for fun's sake, i s'pose.
and i am using a wired ELM327 unit.

Well, the OBD reader is not always used to check error codes. I find it very much geeky or whatever and was literally glued to the monitor for about a week. The fuel efficiency, throttle position, 0-100 timings et al, make me go ga..ga ...

Try the OBD spy and Scan Master. They are good. Also, could you please do me a favor?. Could you please send me the drivers that have been installed?. I assume you are using a windows PC. Is it XP or 7?

wilco.
although the cd did have drivers, the detection and driver installation happened aape-aap, seemed like PnP, but the CD WAS in the drive, so windows might have picked the drivers from there itself.
It is on windows 7.
will send across the drivers.
PM me your email id.
whats the unit youre using?

@akshay4587: just one thing to keep in mind, whatever you get, try and spend a lil more and get a wireless/BT one.
The wire is a serious restraint.

I'm not sure what ECU Accent sports. Is it a petrol or the CRDi?. In any case, if you manage to find out the ECU model, then most ebay sellers have a list of ECU's supported. Just check if yours is listed.

The wireless and bluetooth readers are the best for using in Android devices and iphones. When it comes to PC, wired are easier to configure. I have bought a ELM 327 device 3 months back, and till now Ive not managed to make it work in PC.
