Re: Ford 1.4L TDCI: Injector Failures

Full story here: https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-...ml#post4454226 (Review: 1st-gen Ford Figo (2010))

Now I am being told that all 4 injectors have gone bad because of the water in diesel issue. Fuel pump and common rail is okay as per them.

I am staring at a very hefty replacement bill. What are my options? Are these injectors serviceable? Or do I request Ford to step in and help me with the replacement cost?

They need to be replaced if the "solenoid" or "peizo electric stack" has failed.

If they are electrically fine, then they can be cleaned using the liqui moly diesel purge process or by a suitable injector reconditioning place.

Alternatively the nozzles can be replaced for a few thousand rupees each by an injector specialist in case cleaning doesn't fix them !

Are there any injector related codes that you see along with a engine check light ? (P120x or similar ?) If there are no 120x codes my guess is a simple liqui moly diesel purge might solve your issues.

Thanks man. There are no error codes at all which appear when connected to the ford diagnostics. My injector specialist says all injectors are serviceable and two injectors need their sensors replaced.

What is this liquimoly diesel purge?

Re: Ford 1.4L TDCI: Injector Failures

Looks like FORD has reduced the old generation injector price . Last week I was at FORD A.S.S and they said currently continental injector price has been reduced to 12K+ from previous price of 16K+.

During 1.2L kms service couple of months back, Service adviser told me that 2 injectors have issue and asked me to replace one of them. When I said, "No, let it be there for some more time" he said "Ok let it be there for now, once the vehicle heats up injectors work well". I am not quite sure about connection between working temperature and the injector. What could be actual issue in the injector?

For now I am using a bottle of Liqui Molly injector cleaner once in 2.5K kms.

Try pouring the injector cleaner direct in the tank. Doing it now, and it has longer effect in my opinion.

Hi everyone!

Bumping up old thread.

I am facing similar issue in 2014 Figo. I notice missing initially when it is cold, but once it is warmed up i can feel all injectors working. But it is not always the case.

Sometimes they all fire right up . Sometimes one or two don't even after driving for 4-5km.

Is it ok to drive knowing that other cylinders are working extra hard to give the same power ?

How do I know it is injectors that are the problem creator ?

Recently got one replaced for 4.5k . Tired of so many injector issues.

Kindly help.

Re: Ford 1.4L TDCI: Injector Failures

So the Figo saw a facelift around the end of 2012.
Changes included the headlights, taillights, front bumper, interior seat colour and some more.

The injectors in the 1.4 TDCi was changed from Continental to Bosch ones.

Have any of you faced issues with Bosch injectors?

Are the 2013 onward models safe to buy today?
