I was watching Fifth Gear recently where Jason Plato adds a fuel-system cleaning additive, probably ReDex, to a Volkswagen Corrado in an attempt to restore some of its lost horses. It got me thinking. Is it worth a try? Has anyone here got any experience with this? I couldn't really find suitable threads on this topic, so thought of starting one myself. Please advise

That's the reason many of us use it at regular intervals instead of with every fill.

For folks in Bangalore, System D/G is available in JK Automobiles on JC road 2nd cross. You can call them and confirm the availability before going there to pick up your bottle. I just bought one yesterday.

For folks looking to procure System G, but unable to source if locally, help is at hand with Roger Motors.

Visit this link to order online. Cash on Delivery is also available.

I placed an order on the evening of 17th March, and got the package today afternoon.
Pretty quick delivery I'd say. Packaging was excellent and was shipped through FedEx.
Tracking was seamless. I had ordered 2 packs.

System D is also available at the same website.

PS: I am not, in any way, affiliated with Roger Motors. Just had an excellent experience, so thought of letting the community know.

Saurav, how much did you pay for System G. I ordered 2 bottles at 360 each with an additional 50Rs for CoD. But when the package arrived, i checked that the BP-Iftex was manufactured in Oct 2012 and thr printed MRP was 299. But RogerMotors has put in their own sticker stating 360Rs. Isn't that cheating and selling above MRP?

Hello there!

I've attached a few photos for your reference.
I paid Rs. 324/- per bottle, exactly what I was shown on their site at that time. I was given a discount on the COD order as well .

However, I did see an issue similar to yours.
Even though I was charged only Rs. 324/- per bottle, the sticker slapped on the bottles by Roger Motors shows the price to be Rs. 299/-.
But when I peeled it off, to check the manufacturing date, it appears the actual price is Rs. 360/-.

Seems like I got it for a cheaper price, and now the prices appear to have gone up. Might be because of high demand and low stock. Right now, the price on the site is mentioned as Rs. 360/-.
Manufacturing date appears to be 2014. Does seem like fresh stock.

Anyhow, I've been using this for two tankfuls till now. Not too much of a difference on my 10 year old Optra. Engine feels smoother, but it could be some placebo effect.

re: The fuel additives thread

In my case the stock is from Oct 2012 and printed MRP is 299. They have charged 360 a price.

I hope there is not problem with this 18 month old stock. I have already put in 25ml in my fuel tank.

re: The fuel additives thread

@hyper-VTEC..
Did you try to complain about this MRP issue with them?

I had bought a Battery Cell Charger from Snapdeal which had a actual lower price printed on that box but SD charged me more. I raised complaint on their CC no. I was asked to return that pack and the money was refunded in the form of SD Cash.

You too can give a try.

re: The fuel additives thread

Indian Oil has also entered the Fuel Additive space. Spotted this poster at an IOC COCO last week.

The quantity for diesel was:
Initially - 20 ml in 20 lit of diesel
Later - 20 ml in 50 lit of diesel

They didn't have stock, hence could not try it.

re: The fuel additives thread

I too spotted the Addon Additive at IOC Pump while filling petrol in our Scooty Pep.
The price was Rs.7.50 for 5ml pouch.
The attendant advised me to use it. But I did not buy it.

I don't whether the additive is common for Petrol and Diesel.
