But I have used the System D many times but did not face the Clogging Issue yet. Touch wood.

Check in the Owner's Manual if the System D is recommended. If it is, then you can safely use it in your Safari.
The diesel filter used for CRDI engines filters to less than 2 microns which is safe for any injector to process. Diesel mixed with System D also passes through it.

The ratio is so small - 1ml per liter - .1%. So I dont really expect problems in using it.
Agree with Condor here, its use has seen no negative impact over many years now.

Thanks condor. I intend to use one bottle every 3K kms so as to clean the injectors(Thats what the bottle says). Anyway i would be running without additive for 3000 kms.So its a cycle of 3K with additive,3K without additive. That should not do any harm i believe!

But i seiously like to have this in my diesel . The difference is very noticable

Infact Tata Motors Ltd recommends to use System D in both Owner's Manuals (Indigo LS IDI and Indigo XL Dicor). But the Works Manager at Sterling Motors Solapur advised me not to use it since it clogs the Injectors. He did not say anything about Diesel Filter clogging though.

Off-Topic..
I want to know is it safe to use 2T or 4T Engine Oil at the identical ratio (1ml/liter) instead of System D since the latter is Very Expensive (@4times the cost of 2T or 4T Engine Oil).

I will check the Thread of "Mixing 2T Oil in Fuel" too.

I'll have to check where the closest one is. Thanks.

Right now I have injector cleaner liquid from ABRO which manson gave me. Its worked in my carbs too. Has anyone else tried it? I was also considering the carb and injector treatment from STP.

re: The fuel additives thread

do those of you who use system D get their fuel filters clogged faster ? I've had my filters clogged a LOT despite filling up from good pumps. Beginning to wonder if it works by coagulating the impurities and trapping them at the filter before they clog up the injectors

No Greenhorn, No such issues. Have you tried without Sys-D for a sufficiently long period, on new fuel filters ? What brand of filters are you using ?

re: The fuel additives thread

After going thorugh this thread, I do agree that System D is not easily available everywhere, but you do get it if you really search hard for it, guess it's like lost love.
I found it last week, picked up the whole carton of 12 bottles from a Tata dealer here in Bangalore, cost me Rs.250/- for a 250ml plastic can.
If anyone is desperate for System D, I can spare a can or two, Do PM me if you need it, BTW I live in Bangalore.

I think the longest I've gone is two tankfuls, after which the engine becomes too harsh for my taste. Not sure about the filters. I use whatever the TASC/workshop uses. will check next time

You can get a can of System G at the BPCL bunk at Majiwada in Thane. It costs 300/- for the can, I recently got one and have been regularly using it. Lasts for 6 tank fulls i.e 3 months.

Surprised. Not sure why, because I also get my fuel filter changes at A.S.S (Tata & Ford), with the normal fuel filters that they use. Yet neither of my vehicles gives me this problem.

Thanks. We meet there before Sunday rides so I'll check next time. I have bought one bottle from the Lotus pump at Andheri. My friend also picked one up from a pump near Radio Club in SoBo.

re: The fuel additives thread

I have seen system D at BP outlets, also at Tata workshops. I don't see filters getting choked quickly. Engine sounds much smoother with it than without it. I can't comment on FE, as the car's routine is highly variable.
Best was close to 14 km/ltr when it was being used on a particular route regularly, otherwise it varies between 11.5 to 12.5 depending on the traffic. This was all in city driving. My car is a Indica DLX V2 Turbo.
