miniSMART marks a shift in the field of workshop diagnostics from laptops and wired vehicle interface devices to smartphones and wireless vehicle interface devices having cloud based authentication. With the introduction of this solution, the company aims to enable its dealers to equip workshop technicians and supervisors with advanced tools at a much lower cost than traditional laptop based solutions.

The solution is expected to enable vehicle technicians to diagnose and troubleshoot faults in various vehicle systems faster. This will result in faster turnaround time. It is also expected to bring down the cost of ownership of Mahindra vehicles.

miniSMART includes:
  • Android App
  • Wireless Bluetooth VCI
  • Cloud Support

re: Mahindra miniSMART - Smartphone app for workshops

A logical move. Mobile phones have replaced many of the functions of laptops, this will be just another one. A cost effective and faster solution too.

Just last weekend I was at M&M service center to get a issue in my ESP module checked. Had to wait for some half hour since the 'laptop technician' was attending some other car. Once he was done with that, he along with my service adviser did a test drive with laptop connected to OBD port.

With the new solution, service advisor could have done the test drive without the wait period involved and analysed the results once back in service center.

Would had been great if they provide a supporting application for users too. Interface is already available for XUV and Scorpio customers via infotainment system and Mahindra Blue sense application.
