MotoScan Chennai - Hex v2 Cable + Software

Would this cable support long coding/ adaptations, etc.? Their description only mentions soft coding.

They're offering instruction manuals and support for installing/ running the vcds software. I am tempted to buy.

This is the one I have. It does support long coding. For MQB cars, Ross Tech doesn’t have all the secure access codes I believe.

If I recall correctly, BHPian AudioHolic is using Hex v2 & VCDS for coding his Slavia, and if that’s the case then maybe they’ve managed to get the secure access codes.

It works for most of the controllers and functions as far as my experience goes. But this is in Slavia. I was not able to run VCDS 21.9/22.3 on a colleagues Virtus since it is not able to read the VIN number.

Hi, were you able to get one from AliExpress? If yes, do they work with 2020+ Ventos?

MotoScan Chennai - Hex v2 Cable + Software

I bought this VCDS Hex V2 cable from MotoScan on Sat, June 03, 2023, it was delivered today, unfortunately, the CD accompanying the cable is corrupt and unreadable.

Is there any workaround? downloading the software from Ross Tech website would probably lock the cable making it useless.

Any suggestions? (Apart from contacting seller and asking for another copy, as I am trying to do this.)

Which version is the cable for? If it is for 22.3 I can help. Most important is the loader. You can still download VCDS from Ross Tech

It might sound silly, but I am not sure, is there a way to check?

In terms of Software Version, I was told VCDS V23.3

Attaching a pic of the cable for reference.

Would it be okay to download the latest version from RossTech’s website, disconnect wifi, and then use the cable?

Hi, I've decided to buy an original VCDS Hex-V2 cable directly from RossTech USA when I need one. I felt safe to avoid the duplicate to avoid any hassles arising out of it later on. Hence, I've stopped trying with the vendors from Ali Express. My plan is to ask a friend to get it from the US when he visits India. For now, I am hunting locally for a genuine VCDS Hex-V2 cable to get my Steering Angle Sensor calibrated on my 2022 VW Vento .

The seller shared a link, my VCDS version is 21.9, will install and check later today.

I am still clueless about the loader though...

21.9 is the most stable version for my car however didnt work with a colleagues Virtus. I updated to 23.3 and realised that many coding flags are no longer displayed correctly and instead represented as ‘TNFxxxxxx’. Even the long coding of Auto HVAC and Instruments are no longer shown correctly hence I had to revert to 21.9.

Re: VCDS (Vag-Com Diagnostic System) for VW & Skoda - Discussion Thread

I would recommend the below steps:
1. Install VCDS
2. Install the VII Plus Loader
3. Map the VCDS executable to the loader The loader should be able to identify automatically.
4. Launch the loader while your cable is connected
5. Cable firmware would be updated.
6. Launch VCDS through the loader.

You should be able to get VCDS to work correctly.

These steps helped me. Please try and let us know if these worked for you.

Received 4 files, but VII_Plus_Loader .rar is not opening as its infected, and windows defender is only allowing deleting it.

Was able to install VCDS, License Status: Valid / Activated -- Unlimited VINs

Do I still need the Loader?

Changes made (through adaptation menu in Instruments):

- Kushaq: successfully removed 80 & 120 KMPH speed alerts

- Jetta: Activated refuel quantity and oil temperature, they show in cluster, but do not work.

Am I on the right path or am I missing something?

If you are able to get security access to the modules, you should be ok. Security Access for Engine and instruments modules didn’t work for me without the loader.

Have you tried refuelling post enabling the feature on the Jetta?

My error attached

For me it worked with 23.3 and 21.9 but not with 22.3. 31347 works for the BCM.

@Maglev I am not sure how it worked for you without the loader. For me without the loader VCDS doesnt even recognise the interface.
