Thanks. But why is that so? When would I be able to do that then? |
I dont think there is a timeline available for it.
@gannu
Do you happen to know the security access key for the Engine module in vcds?

The access code 27971 works in my car, Slavia 1.5TSI. You can check out the codes here for MQB cars and a few other older cars here

Hello guys, i just bought slavia 1.5 and wanted to code it. So I have few questions
1- can i code the car with original hex V2 enthusiast? Or do i need Pro for full functionality?
2- is it possible to do this coding with some other scanner/software? Like launch, obd11 or some other?
3- if yes, then where to source them?

Yes, you can definitely code the car with an original Hex V2 Enthusiast edition. I just got mine a month back. you dont need Pro for full functionality. The HEX v2 is a fully functional cable, the only drawback, its limited to max 3 unique VINS. after that if you need more VINS, you can upgrade your cable to 10 VIN limit by purchasing the upgrade.
Coding is possible with OBD11, carista is also available but I wouldnt recommend it. Its functionality is highly unoptimized and works slow. (personal experience. have a carista adapter too)
Get the Hex V2, if you're personally interested in also investing your time in trouble shooting and analyzing issues when and if they arise. If you're more into easy tweaking, but dont prefer racking your head into it when something goes wrong, the OBD11 would be a better bet.
Adaptations available for Instrument cluster(Virtual cockpit of Slavia/Virtus/Taigun/Kushaq):
I have picked out the adaptations that are relevant. There are lot of other channels but not meant for this ECU or isnt relevant.

Anyone here have experience with ODIS?

I don't like 2 things on the steering of my Tiguan Allspace
- When you are driving on a straight road, it takes effort to move the steering from 'straight ahead' position to do any fine corrections (like avoiding a pothole). I would have preferred little more 'loose' feel.
- Tendency to return to the center position is bit too strong, especially at decent speeds.
Can these points be addressed with VCDS tweaks?

Thanks for the prompt response! Going ahead to get one for my 2021 Vento TSI. Want to remove speed warnings as well as enable some features. |
Hey HMV !
Any luck finding a VCDS cable from Ali Express ? I too tried 2-3 different sellers, but the payment isn't going through.

You’ll have to pay via PayPal. Chat with the seller you want the cable from and ask them if they can ship to India if you pay via PayPal. I didn’t purchase as those cables apparently can’t communicate with the new instrument clusters.

If it helps, I got my VCDS cable finally, so I haven't taken up Sivasain@'s offer. Hit me up if you're near Ecity phase 1 after 19th January! (gonna be in Hyd) |
Hey Sen !
Any leads on buying a genuine / decent VCDS cable ? Ali Express is flooded with sellers and payment doesn't go through for most of them.

Hi again teja030,
I remember getting my cable from eobdtool.com, which was considered a bit of a hit or miss even back then. Would recommend simply for the quality of cable I got.
Plus is, once the cable is detected, you don't need to use the 3p software to connect, you can directly use Rosstech's firmware to jack in. However, I haven't used the cable in over a year, so I'll report back with the accuracy of that information when possible! (currently travelling without the cable)
If interested,
here's where I got my cable from. Good luck! :)

Hi Guys !
Could there be any real difference between both these VCDS cables except for the price? I am looking for one for my VW Vento TSI 2022. Suggestions would be helpful. |
The cheaper ones won't work properly with cars newer than 2017 and might not work with all the modules of your 2022 Vento. The first option would work in your case. Check with the seller directly before you buy the cheaper one.
