First apply the wax with the applicator pad and allow it to dry for atleast 15 minutes. To check whether the wax is dry or not, rub your finger against the waxed area and the wax should not smear.

Place your vehicle in a sunshade and apply wax. Make sure the temperature is less than 30 c. If the surrounding area is damp (rain) you have to wait for more time for the wax to dry.

Once the wax is dry, wipe the area with a Microfiber cloth. It is better to wipe with multiple microfiber cloths.

Note: Don't apply wax on plastic / rubber area. It will change the colour.

@sunnyboi: The Palio looks awesome.
Thanks for the instructions. That sounds right, just like what I have read in some reviews on Amazon. The good thing about such international products is the amount of info you can find on them. M26 seems to be a very popular wax. Then you have Meguiar's own forum. Will read further there too.

I ordered those pads from Paytm. Same price but will get 30% cash back. It was then that I found out that it is the same seller there. Had I ordered M26 from Paytm, I would have saved another 200 bucks. Oh, well. Hopefully they will ship it soon.

Re: All about Car Waxes & Sealants

I was using 3M paste wax which was average but not very good. It lasted me an year.
Now need to purchase a new one. Need to decide between Collinite 845 and Meg's Gold class paste wax. Both are comparatively priced between Rs.1600-1700.
My question is which one out of the two would last longer in terms of number of applications on a sedan?
Also, is there any significant difference in durability between the two?

Re: All about Car Waxes & Sealants

Folks i recently used the Meguiar's Premium Quik Wax on my XUV and found it to be very convenient from an application standpoint since its spray on. My previous experience has been on Formula 1 kind of products but this one saves lot of time. You jus spray on the liquid which is almost watery. Two rounds of rubbing. First to spread and wax and second to buff. I used lint free car cleaning cloths for that purpose. I got the car washed from FNG and did the waxing on my own. Took me less than 40 mins for entire car which is relatively big. Next on my list is the Figo. Should manage in 25mins. With this product i can easily do this once in 3 months.

Some pics for viewing pleasure. Sorry I dont have the before pics for comparison.

The vehicle looks stunning after the waxing.

Tried searching online shopping sites for the same wax, however I guess it is not available in India.

You can buy and use Meguiar's M26 HiTech Yellow Wax which is the professional version of the liquid version of the spray wax mentioned above. It will be even more effective Look at the pictures posted just few posts above, as well as some pictures of my car with the same wax in the link below :

WOW!!
Your XUV 5OO is looking amazing, mate!
Very impressive. And the fact that its a product which does not require any expertise or is not time intensive, I think I am definitely going to buy his product.
Thanks for those pics.

Cheers.

Thanks. Will check out the prices of the same.

However, I have learnt it the hard way that matching your level of glossy finishing is next to impossible.

My current car only has 3 layers of M26 and nothing else. I haven't touched it yet. I seriously recommend you try M26 and put on 3 layers. You will be pleasantly surprised

Re: Professional Car detailing in Mumbai

Lot of users like me have been waiting for a professional car detailing service provider offering nano ceramic coating for paint protection. Although there were options like Ulitmate Detailers (Authorized dealer: Car Pro) in Bangalore, there weren't any similar professionals in Mumbai so far.

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/bangal...bangalore.html

We have a Car Detailer now in Mumbai - Ace Pro Touch, Jogeshwari, Mumbai.

I am getting my 2012 model Honda City getting detailed and will keep posting pictures as the work progresses.

Ceramic coating products being used are from Max Protect, UK.

Suhas, normally 3M guys hold stock of Meguiar products. Dont know if they specifically have this one but doesnt hurt to check. I had bought the odor eliminator once from then. There are couple of them around Marathahalli now.

Results look good. Can M26 be applied with hand?

Yes; I use a Meguiar's Gold Class Foam Applicator to apply wax on the car by hand.
