Crash Bars For Cars - Good Or Bad

Hello friends and experts, I recently purchased a Maruthi 800 and thought of the fitment of a bumper protector like the one in the picture. On reading the owner's manual, it is seen advised that the fitment of additional crash guards on the car will do more damage than good in the event of an accident. So I am in a decision favoring no crash bar installation. Then again, there is a slight itch for the crashbar. Should I go for it or shouldn't I ? Your expert views please.
Regards adrian

Really sorry for starting a new topic without searching for like ones. Mods please merge this to existing ones. Thank you.
